2011 Volkswagen Vento TDI - Modded

Hey there,

This is my first real post on the forums, so I'm going to keep it short

After an agonizing 6 month wait, I finally took delivery of a Flash Red Vento diesel. It was the first car I bought without even test driving, I went purely on the reviews. We 've always had sedate coloured cars in our family so I decided to spice things up and ordered one in Red - VW makes good red cars, remember the first batch of blood red Skoda Octavia's? This one's a real head turner.

Hated the plain jane looks of the OEM Highline wheels, so decided to upsize tire+wheels. The choice of size and fairly uncommon PCD of Vento made it difficult to find decent rims. After searching Hyderabad, I decided to give Bangalore a try and got lucky at Shivshakti Tyres on JC Road - Jashanth is a great guy to do business with.

Stage I Mods: done
Konig 16" painted rims
Hankook 205/60 R16
5% tint
Pinstripes+decals

Stage II Mods: proposed
Seats
ICE
Engine Mods - tuning chip+filter+anti-roll bars
Xenon headlights (OEM's are terrible!)
Lip spoiler for the trunk

Cheers!

Re: 2011 Volkswagen Vento TDI - Modded

Thanks guys!
I've never tried smoking my headlights/tail lights, how do you do it? Doesn't it make the throw of the headlights weak?

Re: 2011 Volkswagen Vento TDI - Modded

The wheels are smoking hot man!!.. and a perfect match to the red machine. Go for projector headlamps, it should give you better lighting along with killer looks!

once again... love the alloys!!

Re: 2011 Volkswagen Vento TDI - Modded

See what good taste and sensible exteriors mods can turn a car into . Excellent choice of alloys. The tints are too dark but looks smashing.

A few things here, Only upper part of the windscreen tinted doesnt look that good. Why not get a lighter shade one for complete wind screen (single). Also, I see the rear screen too have split sheets for tints, again a single would look much meaner.

Headlights definitely needs upgrades, those Euro polo's smoked ones will look great. Smoking Tail lamps is again a good thought as cityvic said.

Lastly, a rear spoiler cannot be ignored, a pic availble on this link..http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/test-d...ml#post2291892

Congrats for the lovely drive, take care and drive safe.

Re: 2011 Volkswagen Vento TDI - Modded

the roof and alloys look great.
The tint is a little on the darker side, but with the black roof and alloys it matches well.
Look great, gives a nice character to the car.
Looking forward to checking out your stage 2 mods.
Drive safe!

Your car is looking hot dude. Please dont overkill it. It looks superb. Now something that's missing

I prefer this one since this will match the black alloys and tints.

Re: 2011 Volkswagen Vento TDI - Modded

With the exception of the roof masking, just loved what you have done with the car. The black alloys make the car look meaner. Just curious to know why you de-badged the car.

The tints look way too dark. Are they legally permitted?

Re: 2011 Volkswagen Vento TDI - Modded

That's a super hot Vento in red! Appreciate your taste. Can you please share the Konig alloy wheels model number and price?

I was under the impression that red doesn't suit the sedate looking Vento;changed my opinion now provided it's modded like this

Those lights look gorgeous. I have always fancied them. But am to nervous to go ahead and change them, as i had a real bad experience with horns last time round. Hence i prefer to keep my ride as stock as possible

Re: 2011 Volkswagen Vento TDI - Modded

I like the wheels but are you sure the tyres are 205/60 R16? Thats quite an oversize compared to the stock 185/60 R15 (8%). Is there any fouling under full load and/or full lock of the steering?

Thanks dude. There are aftermarket LED tail lights available for the Polo as of now. Guess the same shop got LED tails for Vento too. They have a wide variety of projectors for Vento.

Here are some pics.

Re: 2011 Volkswagen Vento TDI - Modded

Just a personal opinion and I am adding an analogy to explain it.

Some people look exceptionally good in business formals, whereas some looks their best in a casual t-shirt and jeans. And there are people who can carry both the looks with élan.

Now equating cars to the dressing style – Cars like Vento, Passat etc. falls in the first category, and this kind of modifications look a bit out of place. IMHO, currently from the VW stable, only the Scirocco can carry off this kind of bewitching looks!

Sorry for being honest here. The main point is you liked what is done on the car, and enjoy your drive

And I have to say that the Vento really looks hot in red. Great choice of colour!
