K&N filter in ZEN

Hi guys,

I got K&N universal filter in my 2002 zen lxi. Covered some 6K kms on it. Lately I noticed the noise while revving the engine has reduced sharply and one can hardly make a difference between the sound with OE filter and this one. Can the reason be dirty or clogged filter? I live in bangalore on sarjapur raod and the road condition is nothing less than desert safari!!
Also, it is advisable instal lsome kind of air-intake ( those small ones i've seen on the bonnot of some cars ), if yes then from where i can get it done?

thanks in advance,

hey sky it wont be a really good idea to put in the scoop as it will get the engine bay dirty and will be filled with sand and will only increase your problem!all you need to do is clean your filter and check.im guessing you have a conical filter rt!if it is then the scoop will help but coz of the sand it could be bad!if you do get a scoop which prevents dirt and water from entering then go ahead!

Even i have a Free flow job done from automech & a k&n Stock filter, Why dont you try talking to vivek at automech, probably he can change the muffler to a more deeper sounding one.

hi all.
i got K&N fitted to my mpfi zen.
i directly fitted the filter to the original stick air pipe, just removed the company filter box and fitted with K&N.
if i dont use the filter with stock pipe, will it affect the performance or any harm in doing it so?

It should be dirt clogging in the filter. You should get it cleaned every 5000kms if in a dusty environment. You get to buy the cleaning solution for the filter and follow the procedure thats all.

K&N for Wagon R

Hi,

Does the replacement (stock) K&N filter give good and/or noticeable increase in performance?

I want to go for an k&n filter in my 2006 Wagon R. I am looking for a performance increase, but had a few doubts.

1. A hi-performance K&N filter, will it void my warranty. I have extended warranty on the car till May 2009.

2. A stock replacement, which part number is best suited for the Wagon R. There is nothing on the K&N website on this.

3. If I still decide to go for a hi-performance filter, which size should I go for?

4. What are the prices of A) Stock filter B) Performance filter?

TIA.

J

I have a high performance K&N filter on my Zen for almost 6 - 7 months and have done 10K Kms after that. No probs so to say and the car just takes off!
Needed to clean it once and thats it!
