Re: Chevy Cruze mods

@markpalk : I am very much interested in this setup. Just that i want a few changes in it. Can you please share the price, sources and the place where you got this done? I would like to get this done without the LED strip and would want both the lamps to have projectors like the BMW 5 series.

Thanks!!

Yes, the headlights were swapped over at Carnation (ORR) Bangalore. The cut-off modification for Indian roads I had to do myself though.

I've attached pictures of the Lights.

Re: Chevy Cruze mods

^^^ Awesome setup!!
Can you please share the cost of the whole setup? And is it possible to put projectors on both the lamps without the led strip? And I want white lights (even in the corona rings unlike the blue here. Is all this possible?
Thanks!!

Re: Chevy Cruze mods

That is a great setup Mark. Give some cost breakup by parts if possible, I hope Carnation can do these in Punto too. Is the blue strip works as DRL?

Yep, it's doable. You need to import the lights as i don't know anyone who sells them here. the total cost of the project for me was ~$500 for the headlights + ~$260 for the 50W ballasts, 50W 4200K bulbs and the associated shipping. I used UPS to ship the bulbs and ballasts so that's a bit more expensive than it needs to be.

Notes:
1) With these headlights you lose the levelling functionality of the wheel next to the light knob in the car.

2) You have to make SURE that the projectors are for Indian roads ( RHD )
I've seen these units pop up for various prices ranging from $340 to $600+

My Sources:
I bought the headlights from Aliexpress.com do a search for "Cruze headlight R8" and look for GIGI168. He's a reliable chap and eager to please. The projectors are for LHD though so you'll have to open the lights and redo the cut-off to make it work for Indian roads. also he has blue lights only.

The Ballasts and bulbs were from The Retrofit Source. Not the cheapest place but very good quality components down to the wiring harness and extra bits that you would need to test your setup!

Other sources I have seen but not used:

Viniati 2011-UP Chevrolet Cruze R8 Style Headlights for Charger|tC|Camaro|Mustang|Cruze

Cruze Imports is based in Korea and will allow you to customize the units ( LHD/RHD, Colour of the led strip and angle eyes ). It's expensive but if I were to do it all over again I'd go with a unit from here.

A MUCH cheaper alternative would be to have projectors retrofitted into your existing headlights. I believe it will cost under 15K but do insist on 4200K burners! ( 4200K is a personal choice. Some selfish people like 6000K and don’t' give a dam about the glare or what it does to other motorists ). You can email electronperformance at gmail for the details. I've seen the end result of their retrofit and can vouch for it. If you want a particular colour angle eye, be clear about it!

Hope this helps!

-Mark

Re: Chevy Cruze mods

I don't have any good pics of the retrofit unfortunately. But do get in touch with Hemank at Electron performance. E should be able to give you everything you need.

Chevy Cruze mods

Hey guys!

Anybody know where in Mumbai I can source and have these installed?

6000K HID 11-12 Chevy Cruze Twin Halo Ring Projector LED Black Headlights Lamps | eBay
or
Smithclub Chevy Cruze Audi Type LED Headlight 4th Gen | eBay

and

Smithclub Chevy Cruze Tail Light lamps Black | eBay

Also, are Smithclub or any of these suppliers from eBay good?.. I Google it and I find anything on them...

Thus, I'd be much happier (even if it means paying more money) to get it done in Mumbai itself, through somebody who can supply parts like these for me.

I mainly want 3 things. The Front Projection lights, Rear LED's and the dual exhaust you can see if you scroll down on this page.

So, can anybody help me out?
