At a car accessory shop I've found lots and lots of Dashboard Polish from different companies with different prices. Some of the so called Dashboard Polishes are multipurpose polishes that they can be used as leather and glass polish according to the company's claims.

Will Dashboard Polish regain the lost shine of dashboards and clean the tough to remove stains ?

And what are your experiences with the Dashboard Polishes ? Is it worth the buy ?

And since there are Dashboard Polishes with different price ranges, which one should I go for ?

IMO, NONE. Just take a dampish cloth and keep wiping down your dash.. thats the best thing you can do..

Ditto!...Tried it once att he dealers insistance (rather they just did it and billed me for it!!... claimed its "STANDARD" ).. I have found these thing to be a dust magnet!!.. more muck seems to stick to it after using these polishes -- unless of course they used the wrong one!

STP Son of a GUN Vinyl Polish is good .

I beg to differ. I have bought a solution, which is not exactly a polish, but it recovers original color of the plastic. It works on dashboard, mirror body etc.
and it works well. I am sure I had written about it in Rudra's car care thread. Hope, that helps!

Hey Mithun

U can check out the collection of MOTOMAX POLISH for interior's & Dashboard.

I have tried it, it works really good.

It shud cost u around Rs.200/- for a Bottle.

Thanx.
Enjoy Revving...

Bought a 225 ml Dashboard Spray yesterday for Rs.150 which is made in Turkey. But there is no usage instructions on it. On another polish I've seen the instructions which tells to spray it to the dashboard directly and allow it to dry and after wipe it off with a clean dry cloth.

So what is the correct way of applying Dashboard Polish ?

Agree with you SS. Its THE best.
The Indian ones are crap. Dont use them. They could leave stains on the dashboard.

I use Formula 1, no problems, although the shine goes off within a month

Not really  ,my OHC's dash turns grey & white,if i dont polish it once in three months.Wiping it wth a dampish rag all the time,is not the best thing to do.

I use colin and a soft cloth and my dash starts glowing :D.
Is colin okay to use for car plastic parts like dash and panels?

Dude, pingme, you use colin any longer and you wont have much of a dash left very soon.
That stuff has its active ingerdient as Ammonia. It cleans so well coz it eats through everthing. Its ok to use it on glass and steel surfaces with paint (tho in the long run it removes the gloss of the paint)

Avoid colin at all costs, the top laminate of yr dash will bee peeling off real soon otherwise

I use Waxpol's "vinyl and leather polish" liquid polish for my dash. It is very good for the dash although not that great on the leather. It is cheaper and almost as good as STP's "Son of a gun".

Cheers
Santhosh

how often do u all polish the dash and how often should we polish the leather seats

Oh and BTW i use turtle wax dash polish. damn good stuff.
But most of the surfaces in my baleno dont hv that smooth finish which
really shine. Used to make my matiz gleam.
