K&N v/s ICE

Its been a few days and i've been thinking of buying my honda something. Was intending to go in for a basic ice setup till someone around here refreshed an option of an extreme series K&N filter.
Not that i would leave out the option i don't pick, i'll just postpone it for a while.

Ice setup wouldn't be any fancy stuff, after consulting the gurus i've set my mind on a Sony 4 channel amp mated with a Pioneer sub which will be added to my extremely basic 4 speaker setup.

And since i haven't been able to find much about the extreme series filter, can anyone enlighten me whether it is really worth that 6k of my savings, and can ithe same filter be transferred to another car?

Yes, the universal conicals can be transferred. Hence the name universal. But the piping may differ.

Dude, a free-flow filter might cost around 1 to 3k.
Get both the K&N and the ICE as well.

6k for a filter is RIP OFF!!

Dude, u get Ractive filters for 1000 bucks.

Check 5u3zero's gallery, we both use the same filter. Pretty good and is Made is USA so no compromise on quality.

(Blue piping was got from a hardware store )

PS: Add option 3, all the above

Any clue on who stocks these ractive filters, how are they if compared to the universal K&N filter in terms of any performance edge, and do they carry along a nice humm as well?
do they have filters for the octavia as well?
and nitrous bro as of now you have to pick one of the two options till i get comfortable with ractive.

Hey Man,

Stick to a K&N. Go for the extreme if you want more pep but make sure you have a proper intake for it.(not like Jigar Muni)

Take my word you will enjoy the filter more than the bass.

As most of them suggested the K&N,go for it.
But you are the one who is going to use the car,so ask yourself,do you want better performance,or better sound?

Bass is not ICE. So I dont consider this a fair poll! :-)

however in this particular case given the quality of Bass you will get out oa 305/306 Pio woofer and Sony amp I'd get the K&N instead.

hey Manson, K&N without a free flow exhaust is not much fun i guess...
i have a sony 504 4ch amp with a xplod 12" sub, working wonders for the bass it produces... however may be in the next week i'll be going for K&N for its performance gain though....
if bass is your only concern then i would suggest you to go for an ICE, if you want performance gain and some bass then go for K&N with a free flow exhaust...
