My pre-worshipped, Super-Chipped Ford Fiesta 1.6S

I purchased this car from Ford Assured that had run 30K Kms / 2008 model and after driving it for six months decided to go in for Stage 1 mods.
I did the dyno of the stock car and it showed peak power of 88.71 Hp @ 6500 RPM.

Now I had the figure before the mods and can compare the gain I got after the mods. The mods / changes that I planned were as follows:
Superchips ECU Remap

VIPER Induction kit (Carbon fiber)

Automech Full Free Flow exhaust

My pre-worshipped, Super-Chipped Ford Fiesta 1.6S-img2012030800013.jpg
NGK Iridium Plugs
OE Brake Pad
Brake Disc Skimming

All the above was done at N1Racing in Mumbai. It took about two weeks to complete the mods as it was the first time that Automech were making the Free flow exhaust for fiesta. They kept the car and designed the free flow as per my requirement. I wanted a very silent exhaust note and the result is just great. The car sound very sweet at idle making it practically like a stock car and when it reached 3000 RPM then it becomes a mean sounding machine (Notes not too loud).
After the mods were completed, did a dyno to check the exact gain after the mods. The dyno showed peak power of 96.1 Hp @ 6300 RPM.

There is a total gain of about 8 hp, I am satisfied with the results. After the mods the car is much smooth to drive and power is distributed evenly and can feel the punch when pushed hard. Also changed the tires to Yoko s-drive for better grip and performance. All I can say is that “I love it !!!”
The next plan is to upgrade to performance disc rotors and brakes pads.

Other Pics of Exterior and Interior of the car.

Lovely yaar! Good to see you doing mods ASAP! Had your exhaust been a little more 'free flow', your top end would have been MUCH better. What fuel are you using?

Thanks and yes you are correct about the free flow, but I wanted a very mild sounding car and that is the reason for my decision about FFE. I am using the normal fuel with ford recommended System - G.

At what rpm does your car go into open loop? Can you also tune this chip yourself via a laptop? If so, your midrange can be better.

Can you please explain what is ment by open loop? I do not think that chip can be tuned by us as it require software to read the maps and change the values. The tuner did not share this software with me.

Bro , do you have any idea about the power gains of superchipping an octy vRS ? as i think a turbocharged petrol engine will gain more rewards of chipping than a naturally aspirated one.

Thanks.
By open loop I meant that the ECU does not take O2 sensor output to adjust fuel. That is the point after which the highest gains in power can be made, as the ECU will not try to bring back the fuelling to what it is happy with.

So, can you adjust the fuelling & timing after more mods?

I guess it is some of the parameters that has to be changed when we are remapping. But it is just my guess, will have to check or find more details from my tuner.

The gain will be as follows:

BHP increase : 37
NM gain : 55
Lb/Ft gain : 41

Please refer to the link below:
http://www.superchips.co.uk/search?m...42&variant=642

There is also the power curve.

Hi Kumar,

I was looking at remapping my car and happened to stumble upon your thread. I also drive a Fiesta 1.6S. Currently its running on Green Cotton stock replacement filter and free flow. I would like to know where did you purchase Super chip and since its been close to an year since you got it installed, I would like to know any pros and cons after the mod. I live in Bangalore. If you can give me details about the chip, I would like to try it out on my car.

Re: My pre-worshipped, Super-Chipped Ford Fiesta 1.6S

What is the 0-100 timing of your car after the remapping ? Is there any difference in the in gear acceleration ( from 3rd to 4th gear) after the remap, because usually turbo cars have better in gear acceleration after remaps. I just want to know about the non turbo car.

Re: My pre-worshipped, Super-Chipped Ford Fiesta 1.6S

Heartiest congratulation for aquiring this awesome car.

But I have one noob question. In your post, you mentioned that you gained 8 BHP, But according to superchips website, the chip alone will give you a 37 BHP. Am I getting something wrong?
