Yes the same thing crossed my mind too but I am sure a good detailing session will easily match both the paints.

Car stripes ideas

I find the stripes on the car very attractive for some reason. They are a cheap add-on, takes no time, and can be removed any time you don't feel like it. Recently I have noticed a lot of cars with stripes on the bonnet and sides of the car. Some stripes run from the bonnet-to-roof and then to the back of the car. If done tastefully & without overdoing it, they can add a character to the car.

Here I want to start a thread which can prove helpful to those who are looking forward to getting it done on their car by looking at the photos posted here.

I want to start off the thread with the fellow BHPian ShubhamGhute's Red Polo with simple stripes no the front bonnet. It looks really cool and I went straight to the nearest shop and got it done to my white Polo.

Re: Car stripes ideas

I am very much inclined towards getting this offset pattern of stripes on my XUV. I am contemplating of getting a satin gold or brushed aluminium stripes.

Re: Car stripes ideas

Stripes definitely add character to a car. It's just the willingness (or lack of it) to make your car stand out in the crowd. I'm slightly towards the latter group. But honestly, even I started giving it a thought when I saw this same polo on another forum the other day.

Which shop did you get the work done from? Also, do share your car pictures if possible.

Re: Car stripes ideas

Mine is Black XUV and satin gold is standing out and soothing to eye over satin red.

Re: Car stripes ideas

BEAUTY she is!!

Such a simple yet significant add on to a car which already is a looker. How much did these stripes cost you?

Re: Car stripes ideas

Thanks a lot. It cost me 200rs . Thinking to extend it over roof and then onto the rear. The shop owner said doing that will cost around 200-300 extra. Just curious if it might look over done

Car looks great. Frankly I am a fan of subtle modifications visually rather than out loud on cars which I have seen still to be a fad in India. Pimp My Ride and Fast & Furious was long time ago, but people here still think it's new.

One of the reason I love your car is you focused more on the built aspects of your car rather than adding a huge spoiler or a body kit etc.

Though just a quick tip, after reading your build, you should have asked them to go with the IS38 turbo instead of the IS20. It might cost more, but it seems no expense was spared regardless. It might have cost you bit more to have a built motor but IS38 would easily have you in low 12's if not mid.

I did a is20 within 2 months and 2.3k kms of buying the car. I wanted to build power progressively. So yeah, is38 next year for sure
