Re: PICS : Tastefully Modified Cars in India

wrong wheels and wrong rear wheel camber for this car. Doesn't suit the rest of it, which is pure class.

Astraea’s recent facelift/modification

I am a proud owner of Astraea, a 2017 Skoda Octavia TDI Style Plus which has munched awfully less number of miles. During the last weeks, I have been going through a phase where I wanted to sell her off and upgrade to a suitable C250 or E250. Having used the W204 C250 over many years in the past, and having sold it for financial reasons rather than age/pleasure, I was always going to go back to a C250, a car which I had a lot of fun.

However, I was also looking at the option of upgrading my wheels on Astraea to 17" BBS wheels which would cost me ~ INR 1,50,000/- along with tyres. The delta over selling Astraea + upgrading to a used C250 vs upgrading my wheels was too huge to divert my mind towards the wheels. Recently I had some scratches on the read fender area which needed to be addressed and further drove my thoughts towards Option 1(Upgrade to C250). When I dropped my vehicle with a FNP(Friendly Neighbourhood Painter), I had a short disucssion & some reasearch online for re-painting of the wheels and calipers.

Roll back to 2016 and my experience of painting my calipers of Athena (White 2010 Laura TD PDI L&K) in gold struck me. And I discussed with the painter regarding the same. The wheels were required to be in Anthracite, and the calipers in Orange or Red. The caliper colours were not finalised until yesterday when we decided Orange would not strike as much as the Ceramic Red. So, when the decision was taken, & they were painted, I have just been thrown back and swept off my feet yet again by Astraea. You can see for yourself in the below images. For the next few years at least, I am not going to part company with Astraea. Let's munch some miles.....

If I happen to see this mammoth in the same stance appearing on my I/ORVM, I’d blink my flashers and make way for the beast to pass damn, this 2021 Fortuner looks beastly

Thanks for the wonderful words ... It is not easy to maintain the beast in black, but is worth the effort

Re: PICS : Tastefully Modified Cars in India

This is my completely dechromed 2017 Honda City including black wrap for roof, front fill, mirrors and painted wheels, logos and door handles. These changes gave the car a fresh new look.

Will probably upgrade the lights with projectors in sometime.

Re: PICS : Tastefully Modified Cars in India

Saw this in Jabalpur. It's a modified 2019 Thar CRDE.

The exterior was looking cool from some angles, the thick bezels around the front glass and their perfect rectangle shape are an eye soar.

Whislt I think the exterior is overdone but interior was very tastefully modified. Couldn't take the pictures of interior.

I don’t know of the others, but I feel the original thar looks much better. I am not sure if this is the new thar. The modifications look horrid and for me this does not belong to this thread.
