K&N filters V/S Proton filters

Does any one have info on performance of Chennai based Proton filters? I did visit the manufacturer and checked out his filters. Prima Facia, I didnt see much difference in them. The filters are tougher. I found that by pressing the piece. I heard lot of tuners complain that K&N get slightly damaged while being fitted. Proton has been in the exhaust business for quite some time now. I have used them on my RX100 & RX135 and also my friend's Suzuki Supra(Anyone remembers this bike?)

He told me that some of the top racers in chennai uses his filters for their Esteems. And it cost much less compared to K&N. He also makes the oil chargers for this for which K&N charge around 1000Rs.

Proton has to customise the clamp to fit my HH Ambition. Any one who has experienced Proton filters, do let me know. I am planning to fit one shortly and like to do after knowing your feedback.
