Ok. I understand. So I will contact them. Can guide me as to what I should look for in a box. I mean I know I have to ask about performance increase and all, but is there any other key point through which I can judge there box or basically anything else one should enquire before buying a tunning box.

I ask this question to you as you people are the experts at this.

P.S. My main motive for putting a box is performance and the fact that I can turn it on and off. Otherwise I would have gone for a remap.

Thanks for the replies.

Re: Racedynamics: DieselTronic Tuning Box

Hello Racedynamics

I was thinking of getting RD box for new swift ZDi , just needed inputs about for how many ksm testing has been done on new swift . Also there is no review on teambhp regarding the drive of new swift fitted with dieseltronic box . So it would be helpful , if you can put up a review of sort so that we can know what type of gains we can expect on new swift .

Thanks for the replies.
1. Try to locate a kit with water resistant automotive grade connectors
and enclosure. Some of them do with computer type 9-pin connectors that
are not good enough, whether gold plated or not. If the same manufacturer gives you either option, go with the automotive grade option. It is worth the added cost.

2. For petrol engines, ensure air-fuel ratio and ignition are set at optimum values. Unlike diesels where air-fuel ratio is not too critical, on petrols it is asking for trouble. Preferably look for a map that is calibrated for and tested on a car made in India and not a generic one.

No plug and play options available for petrol engines as of now.
Missed this thread.

Is it the single channel or dual for Safari?
Is there anyway I can test this at Trivandrum?
What would be the price for the box?

Hi RD,

What is the cost of a dual channel box(if applicable) for the ford figo? If not, what is the cost of the single channel box?

Re: Racedynamics: DieselTronic Tuning Box

Hi

I have had a RD box in my Ertiga for the last 12500-13000 kms. I had installed one within a couple of hundred kms of purchase. No issues so far.

I did a trip through KA/MH/GJ and RJ - total of 3800 or so kms with no problems. the TL is available at http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/travel...uv-ertiga.html

I have almost always kept the RD at P1 mode while on the highway. In the city I take E but I like the P1 mode.

A question to RD - Can you confirm the RD box does not increase stress levels on the engine parts including but not limited to the turbo? In my driving I rarely exceed speeds of 120 kmph but keep a steady 90-110 kmph and have done Bangalore-Mumbai in a 14 hr drive.

Appreciate your inputs.

Cheers

Vento/Rapid Dual channel units are in the final stages of testing and should be out very soon.

There is no increase in stress levels of any engine component.

Re: Racedynamics: DieselTronic Tuning Box

Hi RD, my query:

I own a 2011 Endeavour 4 x 4 AT.

The Endeavour shifts into top gear at exactly 85 kmph true speed (as seen on the GPS). The last-but-one gear (before the top gear) engages at around 50 kmph and due to this huge 35 kmph gap (50 to 85 kmph), it slows down the progress after a quick dash to 50 kmph.

On the highway, this late top gear also leads to higher fuel consumption lowering the mileage of the SUV.

I want to know if the DieselTronic will help me improve driveability by shifting to top gear at a lower speed (say 75 kmph)
