Re: Racedynamics: DieselTronic Tuning Box

Guys,

Finally decided to take the plunge and go for the dual channel box for my XUV 5oo.
Any recent updates from anyone who has been using it for a period of time?.
Overall in reading this thread, I understand that though there are a few cases
where the box could have resulted in turbo failures, the majority response seem to be overwhelmingly positive.

BTW any idea how much would be the turbo cost, just in case if it fails?

Planning to go for it, sometime this week, will update this thread on my experience.

Re: Racedynamics: DieselTronic Tuning Box

Decided to go for a full remap. :o

wanted to get a dual channel, but as my ride has FGT (fixed geometry turbo),
only single channel is supported.

Guys, Any1 looking for a quick great deal for Racedynamics dieseltronic box can have mine.
Supported cars are Nissan Terrano & Renault Duster 85ps.
Thank you.

Will update my comparisons between remap and box after thorough testing.

Nitish, the RD tuning box supports both the 85 PS and 110 PS variants, the position of the connectors are at different place inside the engine bay. I had used it for a while on my previous 85 PS Duster.

Won't work for the 110 PS engine (which has a VGT turbo). You need a dual channel RD box.

Cheers,

Let me get a quick update from the Racedynamics Guys.
I tried it on a ford aspire, and it worked flawlessly.

I will check for your car specifically.

So where are we with installation of Dieseltronic on your XUV5OO? Which model you have opted for?

There is no such compatibility issue, I had used my BEAT's tuning box on a Swift, then on Duster AMT, later on Duster 85PS and is currently running on a Duster AMT. RD guys were courteous enough to swap the previous cable for Duster. There is no VFM to use a dual channel box on Duster.

Re: Racedynamics: DieselTronic Tuning Box

I had been using a Single Channel RD Tuning Box for my Swift VDI. Removed the Box while selling off the Swift. Had sent it to Race Dynamics for updating the Maps for the SX4 Diesel. The results are not as good as a Dual Channel Box but better than Stock. RD updated the Maps for free and I had to pay for shipping only.

Re: Racedynamics: DieselTronic Tuning Box

I have a dual channel dieseltronic box for Ford Aspire / Figo. Used it for 200 Kms and Dad decided to move in with the car for himself. Right now I am not using it and it has been packed well and up for sale, posted under classifieds.

In the 200 kms drive, I was thoroughly impressed with the power delivery on P2. E mode was good for a gain of 2 kmpl. Not exaggerating but have got 30 kmpl without AC on E mode for a 70 kms drive on the highways. P1 mode does not have much gain but on straight line you can feel a minimal increase in the linear torque.

My co-brother got the dual channel box installed on his XUV and he has been raving about it since then. I traveled in his car and the engine's performance has gone up a notch (especially in P2 mode). I plan to get one for my XUV next month.

The dual channel box is said to bump the power output by 25% in P1 & 30% in P2 modes. I was wondering if it is also necessary to upgrade the brakes after getting the box installed. Perhaps other BHPians could throw some light on this.

Its has been a few months since I installed the box and it is performing very well. I use P2 only on long drives and the driving and overtaking is effortless. I find an increase in throttle response and that overall adds to the ease in driving, also the torque increase in P2 is substantial and it helps in lesser gear changes. Overall extremely happy with the box. Within the city, I keep it in P1 and I find it subsequent.

As far as the brakes are concerned, I did not upgrade the brakes and in my opinion, it is not necessary.

Can any Brezza owner please share their feedback about the box? I am contemplating buying one for my 2 year old car.

Re: Racedynamics: DieselTronic Tuning Box

Got the box installed a couple of weeks ago. My co brother upgraded from a XUV to a Q5 and he passed on his box to me.

The car has changed since then. P1 is excellent within the city. There is improved throttle response at the low end and there is rarely a need to down shift.

P2 makes highway drives even better. The XUV has always been an effortless cruiser. With the box, the turbo kicking in becomes a lot more apparent and makes overtaking a lot of fun.

Very very happy with box.
