  • Hi VC12! Well Yes, I do like it. It shows many things like:
Fuel System Loop Status: Open or Closed Loop
  • Intake-Air-Temperature
  • Water-Temperature
  • Fuel-Pressure (not available for the Ikon tho)
  • Liters-per-Hour
  • Ignition-Timing
  • Engine-Load
  • Liters/100Km
  • Kilometers-per-Hour
  • Manifold-Absolute-Pressure
  • Revolutions-per-minute
  • Battery-Voltage
It's like a trip computer in the Skoda family, but has more features and also its an trouble code reader and eraser too.

I got it from Toronto for 196 CAD (7,550 INR). It was hand-brought to me. No warranty on this. If any problem happens within a year, I can send it back to Toronto for repairs or get a new unit free.

Yes its possible to change the speedo/tacho cluster backlight, but its complicated. Hint: The Ikon has projector type of lighting in the cluster.

Sounds quiet intresting, Did you DIY? OR have got it fitted by experts?

Any idea where one can get it in India?

Hey! It's SO simple!! Just like plugging an USB mouse to the computer's USB port and that's it. No need for those experts!!

Some pictures to explain:

This is the wire that comes with SG

One end of the wire; named as "Side 1" for illustrative purposes.

The other end of the wire; named as "Side 2" for illustrative purposes.

The ScanGauge's side port.

Now,
Side 1 goes to the car's OBD port, and Side 2 goes to the SG's port.

That's it! The power is supplied in the cable itself. So no extra wiring needed.

SG works on Aveo! The OBD port is in the same location as Accent and Santro.

The location of the OBD port in the Santro is posted here.

So my thinking is, it should work in all cars from Ford & Chevrolet.

Are all these readings necessary for ordinary drivers like us? Or only for tech geeks?
Not sure what litres per hour is.

Well you could make use of some information. Its useful for me! All the information is useful for me. Interesting information too.

Its like you utilize the information to correct your driving and get more Km/L.

Liters per Hour feature shows how much fuel is being consumed in an hour.

In the Ikon, while the car is idle, with a/c off, it stays constantly at 1.0 LPH.
When I put on the A/C, it varies between 1.4 to 1.5 LPH. I love this little gadget.

Wow, that looks like good info. Do you get this gadget in India? Is it easy to fit into a Fiesta?

Nope not available in India sadly. Yes, it should work on all Ford vehicles. It'll be easy too!

EDIT: Today I pushed the Ikon to see the maximum TPS I could go to. I think I was pushing the accelerator hard, but I was able to get only 35 on the TPS. Surprising. I shall test again later.

EDIT 2: TPS is Throttle Position Sensor.

I calibrated the ScanGauge upon my refuel today. ScanGauge reported 28.8 litres used up while I refueled in 29.8 litres. So I had to calibrate it to a factor of +4.0%.

But still its going great! The maximum I've been able to get on the Throttle Position Sensor reading was 35 while pressing hard and not 100.
