Scan Gauge

You can determine which protocol is implemented by looking at the vehicle’s OBD-II connector. All vehicles have pins 4, 5, and 16. Pin 4 is the vehicle’s chassis ground, pin 5 is the signal ground, and pin 16 is positive from the battery. In addition to pins 4, 5, and 16, the connector will have one or more pins. You can use the pin positions to determine which protocol is used on the vehicle.

PWM - Must have the following pins: 4, 5, 16, 2, 10
VPW- Must have the following pins: 4, 5, 16, 2 (Note: Not pin 10)
ISO- Must have the following pins: 4, 5, 16, 7 (Note: Pin 15 is optional)

General thumb rule

PWM- FORD
VPW- G.M
ISO- European cars

Well I have put Mine for sale, in the classifieds Section

My Tucson's shiny inside is riddled with wires galore, Lucky that I have 3 Power Outlets but still everthing has so many wired loops that I m gonna get rid of them or get into some serious trouble one day
The List is
Radar Detector
Plasma Globe
Inverter
Charger for Bluetooth Kit
USB Stick Input cable to HU
Phone Charger Cable
Fridge in the Boot

I have to start cleaning it off ASAP and Before Installation the Scangauge falls victim and I am selling it at a loss of 2K :((

@Ashish, to be truthful, I am not sure, Have you ever got thr car hooked to the scanner at the workshop/A.S.S point. you can check the connector if it is an OBD II port.

Does anyone know if the new Swift with the K12 engine is compatible with Scanguage (I know that the old Swift is not)?

The Ritz is compatible, hence the new Swift MAY be compatible! That would be really nice - good driver's car, decent mileage and ability to hypermile when necessary (assuming Scanguage works).

Just answering my own question. As per Kiran Kumar Reddy who posted at Scangauge's Facebook page, the Maruti Suzuki Swift Kseries petrol version is compatible with Scangauge.

I just ordered one from eBay through my friend who is visiting US. It costed $159. Planning to fit in the Santro. He will be back next month. I will update this thread with results after I fit it.

Yes, we have tested and using it .. it worked on Maruti K series petrol version & i20 Asta petrol.

New ver 3.17 is showing .. The ScanGaugeII can display Kilometers Per Liter (KPL).

My ScanguageII arrived yesterday morning from US. Since it was brought by a friend, did not suffer any customs issues and $159 (Rs 7200) is all I had to pay for it.

But apparently I did not research enough before ordering it and I learned the hard way that it is not compatible with the Santro.

The website mentions "Works with all cars and trucks manufactured after 1996" whereas what they should have been telling is that it works with all cars and trucks manufactured in the United States after 1996.

I checked it on my roommate's Accent Viva 1.6. It connected in a jiffy and works like a breeze which is logical since I do remember seeing some Vivas in the US.
