Mustang Eleanor Replica based on the Chevy Optra

Big Daddy Customs made this Eleanor Replica based on Optra. These are same people who did Moon Rover - creating a Evoque replica from Safari.

While it is a good effort, somehow this kit car doesn't stir passion in my mind and heart. It needs better wheels and tires asap and a more powerful engine to carry all this bodywork.

Indian tuner turns Chevy Optra into Mustang 'Eleanor' replica

I agree to that, it just doesn't feel right. The side air ducts/fins (or whatever they're called) just look over done to me.
I like the front though, except for the old age headlamps it looks pretty good.

We'll need to see some long shots to really comment on the car. From the close quarter ones posted, the desing doesn't seem to be proportional.

Looks shrunk and jumbled up, however I must say that the work seems to be executed very well. Would have turned out better were it based on a Contessa, which is the only Indian-made car with dimensions that comes close to a Classic Mustang.

Great effort and workmanship, however it does not look right at all and that too a "replica" with a FWD?

Bigdaddycustoms is a member here, it would be great if he can post some proper images and also a lowdown of the process, cost etc.

The front bumper, doesnt it need to be leaner, along with the grill and the headlamps?
Rear looks almost spot on!!

I second Mayankk. The front is nothing even close to original, though it should have been rather an easy mod than what they have done with rear, which IMO has come rather neat.
But I'll give full marks to BDC for their efforts.

@ BDC, just a query, Wouldn't this have been more easier on Contessa chassis?

If we've to build a replica, it doesn't really matter on which platform we do that because we have to re-skin the whole body shell.

Re: Mustang Eleanor Replica based on the Chevy Optra

No offence meant to anyone, but IMO why does everyone try to convert any car they lay their hands on into either an "Eleanor Mustang" or a "Bumblebee Camaro"?!?

Customization should be about originality, and presenting to potential clients what one could create and not replicate!

Can anybody give approx. cost of modifying an old Octavia 1.8 TDI to Mustang GT? No major engine mods but cosmetic exterior and interior.
