If this is what you want to do, plan and prioritise the mods such that you don't feel the pinch too much and take your time to do it. I never blow up a lot of money in one go, keep doing small things every month and this keeps me interested and not to mention looking forward to my next pay check . My next mod for my esteem will be K&N's, still saving up for this.
i guess he only wants his car to look good. he doesnt care about performance. dude if u want tht get a body kit, nice rims nd a nice paintjob done though as most ppl here will tell u, its the stuff tht u dont see thats the most important in a car

Get yourself a K&N filter, a freeflow exhaust and get the engine ported and polished. And some head work. One thing in your favour is that your gear ratios are better than the present esteems, as the present ones are made for more fuel economy.
Engine :-porting n polished, How much F.E do u lose especially on M1000?

badboy,
Get a nice Body kit,(I have seen one designed by Rio,looks nice.)
New tyres and rims.
A nice paintjob (how about yellow with black rally stripes)
A nice audio setup.
Get some performance mods, so your car just doesnt look "all show no go".

Do them step by step.
1st get the mechanical part done and then you can go for looks!

go through this link in case if you are looking for some body mods the esteem looks like a 1000 model in this thread it is a total transformation but it is way too much for me to handle

Konis are good but an expensive option however if you want something price efficient go for Monroe Gas filled shocks.

Oe shocks means original from the manufacturer.
badboy instead of getting single parts make a list about what you want and then buy.
This way you can keep a check on your budget.
