First off, the maruti 1000 is pretty low powered as compared to it's older brother the 1.3 65 bhp esteem, and it's eldest brother the 85 bhp esteem. If you not too hot about getting an engine swap/transplant done, why not do something to your existing car to give it that extra kick? Get yourself a K&N filter, a freeflow exhaust and get the engine ported and polished. And some head work. One thing in your favour is that your gear ratios are better than the present esteems, as the present ones are made for more fuel economy.

Hope this helps.

P.S.
1. The first post by everyone is usually an introduction of themselves, their likes, hobbies, et al. Have a look at the Introductions section.
2. Please use a full stop ( . ) when you end a sentence. Makes it difficult to read otherwise.

Godspeed.

Alok.

Hey BadBoy!! If I were you, just give up your 1000cc esteem. buy a Baleno (black if you like it) from seconds market. then top it with K&N filter and nice bright headlamps.. if it needs rear spoiler then go for it. alloys if doesnot have one..

What do you mean by Cool and Efficient?

Cool : Body Kits, ICE and Paint Jobs - I think there are enough people out there to do the work out at mumbai.

Efficient: Please upgrade to at least an esteem engine in the car

Badboy you want your car to be cool and efficient right!
So you need to make it look as well perform better!
According to me everything depends on your driving habit,if you are always in the mood to race, then 1st get some performance mods.
Or if you like the current power output of the car you can get it to look good.
All depends upon you and your cash power!!!
If you have the money do both the work at the same time,so you get a fully tricked out 1000.

I think you can get k&n filter from:-
In Bandra,I only know of "Motorsports"- Carter road, but I am not too sure if they have performance upgrades.
Or at
"N1 Racing Equipment" -Dadar(west)
Or at
"Four Seasons Automobile" -Tardeo
I have never been to these places, only got information at an auto show.

Thanked: Once

the1000cc once ruled the rally scene but soon lost out on "more CC" cars!!!!i guess a full on mod on power aspects, replacements and a whole lot of exterior modification will give ure car a new place.it may be old but not totalled..............loads can be done to rev ure car up!!!!!!!!

Just go in for an engine transplant, maybe an esteem or a baleno engine. Whatever you do, don't give away the gearbox, the 1000's gear ratios are very good and I am using them on my Esteem. You will need to upgrade to Type-2 Esteem's brakes.

If this is what you want to do, plan and prioritise the mods such that you don't feel the pinch too much and take your time to do it. I never blow up a lot of money in one go, keep doing small things every month and this keeps me interested and not to mention looking forward to my next pay check . My next mod for my esteem will be K&N's, still saving up for this.
