My God! this is frightning...

whatever written here, does it apply only to diesel cars or petrol cars are affected same way?

I am planning to fit K&N OE replacement filter (not free flow) on my year old WagonR this weekend but before that trying to find all pros & cons. I was under impression that it will improve FE and performance (or may be not ) but I will be mentally satisfied at least.
However, if by any chance its going to cause any harm to my car then I am of out of here.

Please help me take right decision...

I too have an indica dls 04.I have fitted a book type fliter. The performance is good and the efficiency is up by 1 Km to a litre. The mechanic says cone type filters are not suitable for these kind of economy diesel cars.

Was buying a replacement stock air filter for my indica. First asked for an indica air filter, but the one they gave turned out to be the same length and breadth, but the depth of the paper used in the filter was lesser. When I specified that I had an indica turbo, they said that the turbo used an indigo spec air filter , with a bigger filter element , and gave me the same. this was the right one. The depth of the paper was a bit more.

I guess the indigo filter has a bit more airflow due to the increased area. Can it be used as a cheaper , and safer substitute for a K&N in a regular indica ?

muneemmk, hotrod's post is 3 years old

I havent changed anything. I'm still running the correct air filter, the indigo's. Was just wondering if regular indica's might benefit from using the indigo one. But now I've got my doubts , since the airbox seems to be a bit different

Asked this because I have heard unbelievable mileage increases with the replacement panel filters in the Indica.

:)

Try Kenny G and a light foot! And no music while you are parked! I am sure you would be suprised about your mileage !

Btw 12~13 Kmpl must be the worst for an Indica?
