Re: Car wrap in colour different from original

Deciphering Heather Mist will make the traffic cop's eyes misty!

Avery says life of metallic color wrap is five years. Installation time is about 3 days and cost working to about 67k. Let's post more information here. Thanks.

Re: Car wrap in colour different from original

3 days for a wrap job is a lot of time. Last time when a friend enquired at 3M to wrap his S-class, 3M Pune said that they would require maximum 1.5 days. Cost wise it looks good. But I am doubtful on the life of the wraps, it would depend on the weather and environment conditions of the car.

Re: Car wrap in colour different from original

If you mean colored wraps in matte finish, they are about the same cost as metallic. The black ones in carbon fibre that are used on roofs, supplied in the unbranded market cost much less.

The price of the wrap depends on the size of the car. 3M Pune had quoted 35k to wrap my Honda City in Matte Black. Matte wraps are cheaper than metallic wraps. Matte wraps need extreme care.

Re: About Vinyl Wraps

My 5 year old Scorpio LX bumpers have started to lose color and are looking pale. Instead of painting, am thinking of wrapping it in metallic color or maybe a matte finish, just the bumpers alone.

Can a wrap be done on the bumpers? Would it be cheaper than painting the bumpers in body colors itself

Buy a tyre polish and give the bumper once over with it - will help regain some of the deep black look.

What color is your Scorpio BTW?

Re: About Vinyl Wraps

I saw a new kind of 'wrap' at the Abu Dhabi Custom Motor Show. It comes in spray form. You just spray it on and it clings to the surface, in any colour. It's just amazing. Possibilities are immense, every year you can change the car colour!

That is Rubber/Plastidip, and its already here in India.
In fact color cans are available on various online portals.

Re: About Vinyl Wraps

I have given my ecosport for a full body wrap and alloys with plasti dip. Total time- 3 days. Cost around 35K. I chose matte lagoon blue for the body and gloss black for roof and pillars. Alloys will be done in black plasti dip.

What's the status of the wrap job? Please post pics of the same and where did you get it done?
