Paracoat Products announces the launch of "PCP Care".
With the help of PCP care, a person suffering from knee or spinal problems can easily get inside the car with minimal effort. A comfortable leather seat with a hydraulic system facilitates the seat to slide out of the car. Once the person sits on it, the seat can be brought back to its original position.
This feature can be installed in cars like the Maruti Eeco and Nissan Evalia. It's pricey though; the approx conversion cost is Rs. 4 lakhs, while the delivery time will be 8 - 10 weeks.
This is interesting product. I assume this would be electrically operated right?
While the price will prevent many potential customers, there might be some challenges:
If the seat once down to facilitate seating and then move inside the car fails when down, The car will be unusable even to move ahead normally unless there is a manual way of putting the seat back in place.
At 4 lakhs rupees, people might find it more economical to hire somebody to help the suffering person to get into the car. In most cases a person would already be available to help the suffering person reach the car in the first place.
This may find acceptance where someone has a dedicated vehicle for the suffering person and price is not a deterrent as long as it eases some pain.
Paracoat Products should upload a video to help people understand the operations and visualize the benefits. Best place could be to have a stall and demo car outside some prominent hospital.
To cater to a slightly wider audience, someone should think of custom driver seats which adjusts the recline, padding and seating positions in all ways to help the driver sit in comfort. Multiple models with memory and power settings, massage features, etc could be launched in the 40k to 100k bracket.
