Absolutely, at 19psi, with the 215 section, 17" rubber, stiffened/lowered suspension and mounts, you can go full throttle in any gear and there is no wheel spin or torque steer. In the drivers seat you don't feel the g's but the few people who have sat shotgun say nothing short of a Suberbike has given them the rush this car gives.

re: Race Dynamics' Baleno Build-up: ITBs/Turbocharged - Re-dynoed @ 256 WHP!

Could we too experience this now? Thats just amazing. So would you be using 19psi for daily runs or reduce the boost and increase when required? Even at 12psi, I think this will be a hoot when floored, which is quite enough for Bangalore roads aint it?

Daily drive would be anywhere between 12-15psi. I floor it everytime i see an open stretch and even 1 bar is an overkill. I've seen what boost does to the cylinders walls over time which is the only reason why I wouldn't run 19psi every day. That said, turning up the boost is a button away

Awesome work!!

The manifold glowing red during the dyno run was amazing to watch.
Will the piping hold up to such high temps though?
Also, is there a chance of the turbo getting damaged when you close the throttle suddenly and the boost pressure has nowhere to go without a wastegate?

Interesting comments on that post. Its a wideband o2 sensor going into the exhaust, not a spark plug

Its not exactly antilag, but for lack of a better word that will have to do for now. Heres the video:

The piping will hold, you will see the same thing happen on most turbo cars on the dyno.
A greddy Blow-off valve is installed, though not visible as it is near the intercooler. You can hear it though in the video ..

Great build man!
BTW, the sound of BOV resembles more like a compressor surge. Maybe my headphones playing the trick.

Cheers!
Have Fun

BTW_ what gearbox are you running? The stock gearbox would have disintegrated beyond 2nd gear!

Bone stock gearbox! The build should really put and end to a lot of myths such as these ..!

Absolutely loving your car and journey.

I think I'm going to have to make a trip to B'lore and ask for a ride (please!), shotgun, just to experience what this would actually feel like in the flesh.. (or metal, if you will.)

Good job!

It's been a couple of days since a newer firmware was updated on the RD 0901 ECU and the difference is huge. The car feels just like stock to drive and is just so responsive! Even with the low vaccuum readings, and minute difference in TPS signals mainly at part throttle, the ecu compensates to ensure I can potter around town without burning much gas while perfectly transitioning into a monster when it floor it. Completely blown away by the low speed driveability now. It been an extremely long journey getting here - there were times when I wanted to ditch the ITB setup completely; but karthik was dedicated to making it work right and he's pulled it off.

The next set of upgrades are already here; we're pushing up the power by another 50-75hp and refining the setup in the process.

The entire charge piping will which is currently stainless steel is going to be swapped with Aluminium. Looking to cut down front end weight by atleast 3kgs.

2.5" Lightweight Aluminium plumbing

No cutting/welding required, pre-bent pipes replace existing stainless-steel ones.

Next the TD05 - 16g turbo is to be swapped with a much larger T04e turbine which should see us hold power right till about 8000rpm.

The cam and valvetrain will be upgraded to meet our goals while still maintaining great streetability.

Gearbox and suspension upgrades are also on the cards and will take place in due time.
