I noticed the vents on the rear bumper and wanted to ask if there's any function for them apart from aesthetics. I've seen all kinds of intakes, vents, and louvers on and around the bonnet but always wondered if there's any utility from having these on the rear bumper for a front-engined vehicle. From an aerodynamics perspective, I think have a vacuum underneath the vehicle makes for better handling but I'm not sure if rear-bumper vents would add to or reduce the vacuum.

They provide proper continuous airflow for cooling the brakes in case of track prepped cars . It's more true in case of disc brakes which can get red hot . May be is the same in case of drums also - let the pros answer this .
