I was quoted 5000Rs. for a Tyvek cover by a retailer of Polco India for an Innova cover, and 1500 Rs. for a Thunderbird cover!

Could this be correct?

Some recommend not using a cover as it leaves scratches.. Would TYvek prevent scratches?
It is recommended that instead of pulling it on and off, you carefully fold it on, and when taking it off, fold it back on.

can someone give us adresses and contacts of dealers of Polco nad Dupont covers in Mumbai?
Im interested.
Bhushans suggestion is good, BUT the costs work out more since the tailors end up charging too much for custom stitched covers.IMO

The info for Dupont India is below:

Gurgaon, Haryana - 122 002
INDIA
Tel. :91-124-2540900 / 2540875 - 885
Fax : 91-124-2540889 - 92

If you find any information, please share.

I'd be interested in knowing if anybody sells Tyvek fabric at wholesale or retail.

Also, if anybody has bought these covers, please share how much you paid, and where you got them. Toyota apparently sells Camry Tyvek covers at dealerships. For how much? And is there one for the Innova?

Use the SMS keypad on your phone to decode that.

Hi everyone, looks like i'm reviving the thread that has been idle for 2 years!

Well,i need some advice on car covers - For i10 - the dealer is offering a hyundai genuine car cover for RS.1250 (includes VAT!) .he said its of parachute material .The thing is i feel its too costly. For few hundred rupees more i think i get a tyvek itself ! Outside dealers offer it at 900 bucks. One dealer said he has a car cover for 600 bucks ,made of umbrella material and added its same as parachute material .

My main question is - Can i go for covers given by outside dealers itself ? Will it be as good as HGA cover?
I'm so confused.Looking forward for some gyan from T-Bhpians !

Go for the Tyvek cover (1st check if it fits the car well) with your eyes closed if you get the genuine thing. A breathable cover prevents rust and is important in a humid place like Chennai. 2nd preference is HGA only because it will fit your car perfectly and possibly come with a warranty.

P.S. - I use a Tyvek cover for my car. It's worth the money.

Rgds,
