considering i can get an ordinary silver cover for an indigo for like 500 bucks, is it worth going for a dupont tyvek cover for 2500 bucks. anyone out here use one ? like its supposed to offer some extra features like weather resistance, breathibility, yadda yadda ..... but is the extra cost worth it ?

What are these ??? are these wheel caps or tyre polish sorta thing ?

Dupont was into paints last time i checked

hi r these covers available for other cars like fiesta if so where can we get it

these r high quality car covers

i seen them at the tata dealer. looked around at a few accesory shops but they didn't have them. you might want to check with your ford dealer/service centre if they keep them. but then again nearly everything from the dealer would be overpriced
heres a link http://www.dupont.co.in/incorp/produ.../nonwoven.html

I checked them out at a Dupont Warehouse.

I've been thinking and thinking about it if the 3000 bucks is really worth it.

From 500 bucks, one can jump to 1000 or 1500 max. But, its like jumping from a toyota to merc.

hi members its available on ebay.inhttp://motors.listings.ebay.in/Parts...istingItemList

The Tyvek covers are bloody expensive, but they're good and just like the paint they're worth the money!!!

3000 bucks ?! I'd bought one for my Baleno for about 2k a year back. The
material is incomparable to the 500 Rs. ones. Interestingly, I've seen Fedex
envelopes, cd covers etc. made out of the same material !

Yeah got for it ....its being made by teh makers of polco body covers

Guys are the Genuine Hyundai accessory - Car cover that costs 1900Rs similar to this Dupont cover ?

DuPont is essentially a chemicals company and make a hell of a lot of things for different industries. Their products are used in roads, consumer goods, engineering good, automobiles, speakers for home and cars.......etc.

They charge a premium for their products and thats why Tyvek covers are so expensive. And their products generally are very good quality.

Tyvek is basically a breathable material which is weather resistance.. Its used to make bands for theme parks and vacation places.. It extremely smooth and doesnt leave fine scratches on the paint surface.. If anyone needs Tyvek u can PM me.. I can send bare material and you can get a cover stiched by urself if u want..
Cheerssssssssss

Overdrive or Autocar (can't rember which, I'll have to dig the issue out) did an actual test with a digital temperature measuring device and found that inside temperatures were tens of degrees cooler in cars w/ Tyvek covers as opposed to normal covers.

Resurrecting an old thread...

Thinking of getting a car body cover for little Sparky as she doesnt like the dust that settles on her due to the consruction work adjoining our flat.

Saw one in Metro. "Refarco" or something whcih is reflective and all that..costs 500 bucks.. And also read up on Tyvek from Dupont. In Chennai it costs 2K. Sundaram has a cover for 1K plus..

Some recommend not using a cover as it leaves scratches.. Would TYvek prevent scratches?

Any members using Tyvek? Is it worth it? Or can you recommend other car covers which are equally good but cheaper and places in Bangy or Chennai where I can get them..

Thanks a ton

Nimz
