Re: Plasti Dip in India? A Spray-on Rubberized Coating...

Guys, any idea if these work same as plasti dip? Saw it on Ebay today.

Btw, How come there is no cheaper alternatives to this plasti dip. What are the Chinese doing these days. May be some one in India can start manufacturing this to make it affordable.

Buy this instead. 50Rs more but a much more reputed brand. I use Rustoleum Peelcoat myself, results are in the previous page.

Thanks Sunny, do you know if the same is available in larger quantities for change of colour on your whole car?

Re: Plasti Dip in India? A Spray-on Rubberized Coating...

Came across this site today. I have NO experience with them, but thought I'd share since people are always looking for suppliers of plastidip in India...

http://www.flaunturkuler.com/spray-can.html

Pics on the site seem to be their own (look at the labels I've circled)

Hi Pawan,

Looks fabulous !!!

How many cans did you require for this. How is it holding up with time?

Thanks.

Hi siddarthab,

Thank you. I used approx 70% of the can for this grill job. 7 months down the line, its still holding up well. You have to be a little careful while cleaning it. But still it is holding up better than I had expected.

Cross posting a picture of the grill from our recent trip a month back.

@SunnyBoi the interiors look brilliant in the graphite shade. Would you please give the url from where rustoleum was purchased. Also, do you think this can be done for the entire dash? I have a 2008 (old version) Zen Estilo whose interiors look something like this - http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/iipcache/47735.jpg. Wanted to make it uniformly graphite/dark grey. Is it advisable to paint only the beige portions or the top (greyish) part also. Does the top of the dash get paint peels due to the heat (from the windshield and the engine etc). Thanks

@keeru: Beautiful finish on the wheels. Looks pretty shiny to be called matte though. I am planning to do something similar to my punto evo's 16 inch wheels, thinking to go with gunmetal grey. May I ask how many spray cans it took you to cover all the wheels and also the cost?

It is actually a matt finish and no glossifier is used.
It was sprayed using an air compression spray gun and it consumed around 1000ml of plasti dip which had come for 5 coats.

It is a painstaking job to get a better finish and I must honestly pour the credit to Flaunt ur kuler for executing the job neatly & professionally without removing the wheels off the car.
They have charged me 4800/- ( charge of 4 cans plus labour cost )

Re: Plasti Dip in India? A Spray-on Rubberized Coating...

I bought this Rust-Oleum spray paint thinking that it is a plasti-dip but after placing the order I noticed that it is nowhere mentioned so. Can anyone confirm if it is a plasti-dip or not?

I wanted to blacken my Bmw grill to make it look like the M performance grill but it should be removable in case my effort goes bad.

Thanks in advance!

Its not similar to Plastidip, this one is a normal spray paint only. I think the Rustoleum series you are looking for is called Peelcoat or something similar

From the name, this sounds like it will be a shiny, non-peelable black.
