Re: Plasti Dip in India? A Spray-on Rubberized Coating...

The friend of mine who got the 2016 Tucson wanted to plastidip his car. He was out of town and wanted me to get it done on his behalf. I took the vehicle to Flaunturkuler located in Vijaynagar. It took 2 full days for the job, the car looks brilliant post plastidipping .

The parts which were plastidipped are as below
1) Front grille.
2) Roof rails.
3) Side skirts.
4) Front and rear bumper lip.
5) Antenna stub.
6) Roof Rails
7) Mirrors.

Ullas the owner of Flaunturkuler is the importer of plastidip India and boy this guy has all the patience in the world and an eye for detail for the job, he does not allow the vehicle out of his workshop unless he is satisfied. It costed 10,000/- for the whole job which included washing, preparation work (masking the car) and cleaning post plastidipping.

I would rate Ullas a complete 10/10. I am looking forward to get it done on my car this weekend.

I have taken permission from my friend to post the pictures of his car here.

It was done on purpose because that area was peeling off slowly as the logo is very close to the body and making an cut was impossible.

Ullas tried 10 different techniques and all of them failed. He told me that leaving an small area on body will make sure it doesn't peel off in future and it seems to do the job.

DIY: Rubber spray on plastic parts for XUV 500

I always hated the substandard plastic grills and other external black coated plastic parts used on xuv 500, it has been over 3 years that i own this vehicle and due to aging the plastic parts are looking faded.

I have come across coating daddy rubber paint spray which can be used on metal/pastic and wood, so i thought of giving a shot...

The work is incomplete only some portion of grill and plastic parts are covered, i am planning to start the front grill work coming weekend.

And... 90% time and efforts goes in masking and remaining in painting, i hope you guys like it.

The pictorial presentation would help you understand the process.

This looks really good. The black color on the plastic parts looks better than new IMO!

Re: Plasti Dip in India? A Spray-on Rubberized Coating...

Finally a thread with ideas I always wanted to implement. I have a dear Renault Scala 4+ years old. It's been so loyal, I don't want to dispose it off, but interiors, especially the dash is a pain to watch. Tried to spice it up a bit with faux wood panels from Autographix, but always wanted to change the entire dash to black from its existing grey.
So my question would be, can the plastidip be used on the dash. I've got my reservations for heat and any potential safety issues.

I was told by the seller that the plastidip can be used on metal, wood and plastic surface.... I have seen people using plastidip on alloys.

Re: Plasti Dip in India? A Spray-on Rubberized Coating...

Can we use plastidip or the coating daddy spray for the steel rims too. Scorpio OEM wheels are grey in color and I want them to look black. I also need to spray on the bumpers and grill on the outside

Yeah that shouldn't be an issue at all.

I think autophsyce would be able to do the task. Not sure though.

Let me know if you find any. I'm considering to get my wheels and grill done.

Re: Plasti Dip in India? A Spray-on Rubberized Coating...

Those who have plastidipped their cars, can you post long term updates? It'll be of use for rest of us planning to go this way, and also any pointers on how to care for it would be helpful.
