re: My Modded Skoda Rapid: Now, 166 BHP / 351 Nm / 119 Whp per Tonne

Congratulations.
Are suspension and brakes able to cope up with the performance bump?

Where is code6 tuning located? never heard of it so.

Yes Fatter Rubber is on cards.
I didnt change it as i wanted to see how well the tires hold up after Remap.
With Wheel Spins in 3rd gear, i might have to go in for 205 sections only.

Have you got any interior mods done? Please post pictures if you have. And I recommend you change the logo on the steering wheel to the 2013 one as well, if you haven't already.
Nothing much in interiors apart from Stanley Perforated Leather Upholstery (Black with White Stitching) and a small VRS Logo near Gear Knob. Will post that soon.

This is basically a Family Sedan, so no lowering springs for me

Unfortunately all sexy & 'reliable' after market alloys cost a Bomb (BBS / Borbets) .

Normal brands is very unreliable for the speeds we do. Hence struck with Stock Alloys :(

That's the international Rapid based on a completely different Platform (Mission L). Indian Rapid / Vento is a Polo Based Sedan based on PQ25 Platform.
Hence, i doubt anything will fit apart from couple of badges

Brakes are probably the Best in the Segment - Yes there are cars with 4 Discs but the progression, bite and stopping power in this Car is brilliant.
Suspension is not for enthusiast's though ! Nothing close to Ford's and Fiat's. It however compensates by offering a superb ride quality. For a Sedan the ride quality is quite Mini-SUV'ish (and i am not exaggerating)

re: My Modded Skoda Rapid: Now, 166 BHP / 351 Nm / 119 Whp per Tonne

Out of the 7 Iterations, one of them Stood out.

The Below Dyno Chart are of the same.
Praveen Stock vS run 5.pdf

Numbing 352 NM of Torque and 136 WHP. The was nothing short of a Locomotive in Pulling power. Even a normal shift to third in peak torque would make the car wheel spin ! Kinda Brutal for City drive. The Revv was so free that it would revv like a Petrol till 5k RPM. To be Brutally honest, this tune made this car revv faster than my Petrol Fiesta S !!
The issue we had was it was smoking a a lot in 3rd and 4th gears after 3500 RPM. Coolant Temp was also showing some 99 Deg max hence we ditched this tune.

The Car still had the launch limiter on (VW / Skoda has a first gear launch limiter at 2500 rpm), without that it will easily hit a ton in sub 9 secs ! It more like a Drag spec tune. Was really difficult to let go of it after getting used to this kinda of Power and Torque !

But made up my mind as i wanted a fast daily driver and not a one day wonder

re: My Modded Skoda Rapid: Now, 166 BHP / 351 Nm / 119 Whp per Tonne

Final Tune:

I was finally happy with the tune which yielded the following Figures;

134 HP of Power @ Wheels (Dyno'ed)
330 NM of Torque @ Wheels (Dyno'ed)
148 BHP of Power @ Crank (Computed)
111 Wheel HP per Tonne

Attached: Dyno Graph - Stock vs Remapped
Praveen Stock Vs Run 7.pdf

The Car tested on Vbox got the following Figures (Stock Tyres)
4 seconds for 0-60 kmph
9.1 seconds for 0-100 kmph
192.6 kmph Top Speed logged in GPS

Wise decision on detuning from the 350NM map for street use... That was indeed a monster of a tune, and pushing things over the edge.

Congratulations buddy! Nice to finally see your thread on this forum. Great looking car, and very quick too

Looking at your stock vs. remapped dyno curve, I think you meant +47 NM of torque over stock

Thanks for posting this. We're 0.16s apart in terms of 0-100 figures logged on our respective remapped Rapids - on a vbox

Please do let us know if the 0-100 timings change after you upsize to 205/55/R15. As we discussed, I unfortunately didn't measure timings before/after, so not quite sure how much time the upsized tyres eat into acceleration

Could you also please also post your 1/4 mile graph from the vbox? Reminds me, I need to log a 1/4 mile run on a vbox and post the graph myself

I actually meant the bump from Stock Specs (as mentioned by Skoda).
The Stock Dyno put out 109 Hp and 284 Nm - but it did have the K&N Stock Replacement filter on it. Anyhow it would have made a difference of like 2 HP and 5 Nm, if not less

Yes Upsize is on cards. Only thing that's still keeping me with stock tyres is the fact that the first service is around the corner. Will finish that first before changing the tyres.

Nice pics. The Monte Carlo lights look great! The international Rapid (Mission L) is based on the same platform as the Indian Rapid. They could have gone for the MQB platform but did not. In fact Skoda were even toying with the idea of bring the international Rapid to India but have decided against it because the notchback of the international Rapid could not be configured into Volkswagen's Vento assembly line as the Vento / Indian Rapid have regular boots.

Thanks just now extended my research
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Volkswa...up_A0_platform

However, the Length, Breath, Height, Wheelbase, GC are also completely different for the two Rapids.

I am not sure if exterior / Interior parts can be compatible without extensive modification to the body / chassis

The length and breadth are more because of the difference in the front and rear bumpers. (width is marginally more) The height is lower because of the lower GC. The wheelbase, which is a compound link crank axle for the Rapid in India (it is a semi independent trailing arm for the Vento) is a beam axle for the UK version to accomodate the notchback.

VERY tastefully modded ride man.. you REALLY need rims to complete the look.. and also a Rear Anti rollbar to get the car to handle a tad bit nicer.
I'd recommend these in either 16 or 17 with 205 section-

Congrats Mi10 - very well executed, given that you significant gains in power, any upgrades on the handling and braking department ? Also with the remapped version any issues of vibrations at higher speeds ?
