hey buddy we had worked on an esteem completely ..it also was a show stopper at the illegal's..the ideal setup is 13" wheels..anything above that ruins the ride quality in due course of time..if you opt for 14" then bridgestone g3 potenza's are the best bet..we were running them..also the good year eagle f1's gds 2,3 both are hopeless during the rains..so that's an absolute no no...if you do need any other info regarding esteem mods please feel free to pm me..cheers..happy revvin..!!

That's a lot more than it sounds when you keep in mind that the Esteems *normally* wear 155/80R13 (LX) or 175/70R13 (VX) tyres.

If you are going in for some suspension / wheel arch mods, then maybe it is doable... doubt it otherwise... you could end up with the tyre touching the wheel arch / suspension components when the car goes in a ditch or while turning... feel free to correct me guys!

You are right Turbo_c. The best upsize would be 185/60/R14 on 5.5 - 6 inch wide rims. I have done this on my Esteem and have had no issues whatsoever.

The max you can go 195/60/R15 with 6+ inch wide wheels, but you will need to remove the mud-flaps. However, your wheels will touch the inner-side when you turn your wheels either to the left or to the right maximum.

I dont wanna compromise in terms of performance, I plan to get the car and then do some performance mods like free flow, air filters, headers, etc etc. Needs loads of help. hey furioussphinx, sold my esteem vx 2001 for 2.10 in feb so you should get a lxi 2000 or 1999 easily in your budget. mine had done 90k . so i think a 1999 should come easily to your budget.

Tool I went through the goodyear site to check on the eagle f1's because I was planning to get myself an 185/60 R14 after upgrading my esteem to a 14" alloys but never found anything for 14". Could you please tell me if you got those tyres here in india and if yes where can i source it from. I tried almost all shops in bangalore but no one had it for 14" and all of them where of the opinion that eagle f1 starts with 15".
