Re: Building Drift Cars - 1990 Mazda Miata

Hats off. Very professional work there. I am amazed to see someone doing this in Pune. May i please ask you where is your workshop. I would love to visit you once.

With so many parts procured is the custom duty levied each time?

Keep up the good work mate, its very pleasing to see someone resurrect a good car. Have to admit though am horrified at the state of the internals before you went in and started the restoration.

Great ordered work you are doing there, and it shows. I have sat in a miata once & it felt awesome. Is there any specific reason you powder coated it in white instead of black? Isn't it a bit loud for the underpinnings, & can darken sooner than later.

Good question. I have a Good answer for u

This is going to be a drift car. Which means it undergoes many many stressful situations at almost all points of time. Which is why, any leak, failure, impact, etc can be easily detected by visual inspection.
Plus its fancy

Yea the internals were screwed pretty bad. I'm sure if cars had life in them , (and couldnt talk like trees), she must be soo happy that she's getting back in shape.. just like being re born.. Thats the satisfaction we get while we do this...

Wow, that is a fantastic job you guys are doing. Great work! I am currently on my 4th Miata/MX5 in Mumbai and know the car well so the work you are doing really hits home. BTW, in case you have not come across it already, a fantastic resource is www.miata.net. It will answer any questions you may have about anything Miata. I will try and stop by your place when I am in Pune next. Cant wait to see the end result.

Holy Moly, A 12'er? This better be good!

I am not an engine person, but yes I love seeing good cars drifting, and love this build. This got me into reading a lot of info about various parts. So, kudos boss. All the best!

Re: Building Drift Cars - 1990 Mazda Miata

Absolutely wonderful work that you are doing. As someone already pointed out, its automotive porn.

Watching a painter paint the canvas, Great work.

P.s. Its a drivers car so got a bit carried away. You cant buy anything fun to drive these days with a manual in the 20-40 category.

It's frustrating seeing screwed up parts. This is why the brakes are jammed. Deteriorated piston. Due to NO Maintenance. Pity.

Time to make a new piston.

Cheers. Hemank

What upgrades for the engine have you planned? and is the Miata's 4 pot suitable for high hp outputs?

Always a pleasure watching rusted cars being reinstated to glory. Takes quite ardour to do it. Keep us posted about the progress with lots of pics and share the total cost of restoration once you are done.
