Strobe Lights

Hi Friends.....

Since a month I am seeing certain cars ( mostly Swift / Honda City ) having some flashing lights ( BRIGHT WHITE LIGHTS) in the Head Lamp Unit and at Rear Braking Lights .......

What are these known as and other than SHOW OFF is it of any use ?

Think ur talkin abt 'Strobe lights' here. They are pretty much for show purpose and range from Rs.350 all the way upto ???

They are also used in Safety Cars in F1, MotoGP etc..

The cheaper ones cost anywhr between 180Rs - 300Rs. Its got a smallish controller for a set of two strobes. But the real deal costs around 2.5K for a set of two 50W bulbs and a controller, this is the thing to get its friggin bright and u can change combinations of the flashes... the 4 bulb set is around 5K.. i just broke my front neon + red strobes planning to get a set of these babies now...

it would also attract the cops...and you might get in touble(in a place like bangalore) if you have it in the front...i would rather suggest having in the rear..brake light or in the tail lamps..

and about the legality, the cops dont say anything about strobes.
I have mine on all the time.. cops see it but don't complain.

Brothers I personally think n suggest, 1 should always go for branded products...... and get things installed from Authorised dealer..... !

you might never know

- that fake chinese product may just blow your car's ( and your ) FUSE
- will work for a month
- might refuse to work...... and when you go to the shop keeper...all of a sudden it will start working and die out again on your way back to home.... ( acting like an VILLIAN of HINDI MOVIE refusing to DIE )

- or may cause a fire in the car / short circuit .......

i would like to share a exp of my friends car.

he was going from Delhi to Jaipur in 1997 .... all of a sudden in his 1000, the BRAKE light started glowing ... since he didnt find any Authorised Shop he went to a GOOD LOOOKING SIDE SHOP ( as in BIG SHOP ) ..... they searched for the fault in BRAKE ..as in BRAKE OIL etc etc .... they didnt find anything....my friend was tired and went for PISS break....when he returned the error was modified...... he was billed Rs 1000/ and they told him it was this and that fault..... he came back... to Delhi......got to know
that the LOCAL SHOP GUYS had taken out the BRAKE LIGHT BLUB from the INSTRUMENT PANEL.........
