Cat Con = Catalytic Converter

Its the device used to reduce the emissions from an internal combustion in automobile engines. Its used in the exhaust system to provide an environment for a chemical reaction to ensure unburned hydrocarbons get completely combusted.

Not sure but iv been told that the cat con does not require useful energy(power) as everything happens outside the combustion chamber of the engine.

There are no stupid questions baba !! Stupid answers... hehe there's plenty of those ;]

Also check if they chucked out your cat con, in all probablity they did. Not a very environment friendly move

Free flow + pollution

Hi,

Sankar..real sorry i missed your post and Jkdas thx for doing the honors.

Yep as has been confirmed the cat con is removed in the free flow installation. One of the first things i did after the installation was to head for a pollution check. What I found was that yep the % had gone up but it was still well within limits. The % was up from 0.1% to 0.25%. The limit is 3% as per the certificate.

the cost for the complete system for me was as foolws in case anyone needs it for future reference
Free flow exhaust - 4500/-
Transport - 500/-(Mumbai - TVM)
Installation - 200/-

And I have never regretted the installation:-D

Drive on,
Shibu.

0.1% to 0.25% not as drastic as expected, though if everyone drove aroudn like that it would amount to something !! Heh

NikN,
So does Automech provide only the pipes without heades and mufflers?

the free flow with a filter is more than enough.
call AJAY on 9820092928 for the free flow and he can explain it better
