hey khaadu,

7k would be the cost including installation, dont get fooled into buying just the filter cause you would then need to make an induction tube, aluminium trumpet.

and remember, k&n lasts for a lifetime but needs to be cleaned once in 30000 kms (or sooner depending on conditions) and for that you need the filter cleaning kit with filter oil which will again cost you some more money. be sure of what you are getting.

I did ask the performance guy for the K&N air filter and he said about 7K !! Still not decided where I'm buying that from yet, will keep u updated as and when I finalise it.
performance auto guys suck.
7k for a filter is absolute @$%%#^.u can get it here in mumbai at around 4-5k.
i have talked to this bearded person who is supposedly the main mechanic at performance auto and he simply doesnt know that there is something called headers.for him a free flow is simply changing the muffler.and for that he had quoted 4k.
see oif u can get it from somewhere else

Hey speed satya, arrange one for me at that cost and the right one and I will have one of my friends pick it up. And u rite that performance auto is pretty expensive, but i dont think its true that a free flow for them is only the muffler --- strange !!! But then they have the advantage of being the only few mod guys around here .. the rest too charge an arm and a leg ..!!!

How do I get in tuch with karan ?? I've been waiting for my free flow from automech and i was meant 2 have it by monday -- today is friday and it still hasnt left bombay !!! I cant decide wether 2 wait for a few more days ( cud b weeks at this rate ) or look at other guys who could do the same !!!

GTO, u said that automech quoted 8500/- for the entire system for ur Honda city ?? I wonder why its costing me 12,500 here ? Also do u guys think its a better option to just get an after market rear muffler installed ... ?

I would guess that the guy selling it to you is keeping his own cut in it. That, or the fact that a Palio system would cost more. Transportation costs from Bombay to Delhi also come into the picture.

Note from the Administrator

Mustangnet had posted as a "self-proclaimed expert" from Coimbatore criticising Automechs work without any justifiable reasons.

Further investigation showed us that:

1. Mustangnet is actually from Bombay, and not Coimbatore.

2. Mustangnet has his own car modifying workshop in Bombay.

3. He is already registered as a Team-BHPian and has posted *a couple of times.

This is a public warning to this user to NOT indulge in such inethical business tactics, or else the true identity of mustangnet will be immediately exposed! If anything, I do suggest a back-to-school class in business ethics and healthy competition.

Team-BHP, as an Indian automotive community, will continually appreciate honest opinions in keeping with the motivation behind this board. However, unscrupulous business tactics and methodologies will not be entertained. Mustangnet has been banned and kicked out of this forum.

hehe,
dunno y people have to resort to such things .y the hell do u have to criticise some one else to sell your own product.if a product is really good then no matter wat happens ,it will sell.Automech exhausts speak for themselves.
fell sorry for this mustang guy : .
