How the hell did he find and fit a Nissan Sylvia engine in an amby.
Hats Off to this guy.

It's bound to happen in the future. Ambys being modded with other engines and all.

Hats off to the guy, but wonder which Silvia had to be sacrificed to give the engine.

Poor Silvia! Perhaps it is just me, but I feel terrible that it had to give up its engine to a slightly crappier car than a Morris Oxford series III

WOW! Just WOW!!!

There is something about an Ambassador and big wide wheels which feels very orgasmic. I liked modified Ambys but this is an overkill, I mean will you just look at those wheels

Transplants are always tricky and takes a lot of hard work. But hey there are artists in all fields. I read the story and what Karan and Bob have managed to accomplish is what you call automotive wizardry. Hats off to the men who still love what they do and live for the thrill of building amazing things.

Sadly I read Bob could not see his dream car come to life. Its a fitting adieu to him. As for the un-hinged Karan, All the best mate!

Bob got the dream right!!
That looks incredibly delicious. As far as I can figure out, its only an amby in name and bodyshell. Look at the gear lever, where it has gone!!

A very sad love story, though.

As the article goes on to say -

You’ll also thank the D2 Racing disc brakes all around because they are full of feel and well up to the task of bringing the Ambassador’s new found momentum to a quick stop. Oh, and there’s no ABS, so you’ll have to go back to the history books and re-learn threshold braking.

Ambys always loved donor engines apart from their crappy but fuel efficient BMC engines. The most successful love affair was the Amby Matador combo.Tempo used to sell more engines than their vehicles.
