I have one, since the last 7 months. Used it 2- 3 times to top up air in my car tyre and bike tyre. No complaints so far. I especially like the fact that it has a small footprint, so storing it in the car boot is very convenient. I think there is a separate thread on inflators. You will find more feedback on this device, plus others.

Also please suggest some good tyre inflators, don’t plan to spend more bugs on it..
I have been using it for more than an year now and I carry it every day in my backpack to my office. It is very compact and sturdy, and can fill up the tyre from flat. The downside is that it is not silent and the gauge is not very accurate. But these are not deal breakers and it is a good buy.

On a lighter note, I have something in my boot which most of you wont carry - my bike's Paddock stand

I do keep it outside when I go outstation or for any trips where I need to use the boot, but otherwise, it stays in the car's boot when it is not in use.

Re: Must-Have Items in the boot of your car

I have the following items i.e.

High quality cleaning cloth
Branded wax polish
Car Cover
Fire Extinguisher
Air Pump GoodYear
Tyre Puncture Kit Coido
Michelin Glass Breaker
Fuses

Surprisingly found that Fire Extinguisher and Glass Breaker do not find a mention in most of the lists.

You're right about the fire extinguisher, but I did list my Resqme survival tool, which is a combination seatbelt cutter and window breaker. A very compact and effective gadget.
Cheers

Re: Must-Have Items in the boot of your car

For me, the MUST carry item in the boot is my sub-woofer.

Coming to other stuff, I used to carry

1. Colin spray - Have used this whenever there is rain + long drives
2. Carry some old newspapers for wiping the windshield
3. Car shampoo - as the water wash guys prefer "tide"
4. A bottle of plain water - can top up the windscreen fluid reservoir / wash the windshield if there is too much muck.

The tissue box is stuck on the dashboard (with a double sided tape) so that it doesn't move around and is accessible for the passengers without having to open the boot.

Other useful stuffs are jumper cable / jopasu duster, tyre inflator etc.

Re: Must-Have Items in the boot of your car

Must haves - tyre inflator, tubeless tyre puncture kit, first-aid kit, HCFC-123 clean-agent fire extinguisher, jumper cables and those sliver reflective shades for the front and rear, if parking for too long out in the sun.

What I have - All of the above; minus the jumper cables +

Subwoofer, 2 amplifiers, 3D organiser bag holding - lots of different microfibres (in resealable bags), WWC, APC, QD, windshield cleaner and the indispensable Jopasu.

In the cabin towards personal safety - Pepper spray and a retractable baton within arm's reach. Both unused till date.

Re: Must-Have Items in the boot of your car

I have a Tool kit with some extra tools, a puncture repair kit, wiper washing fluid (many times in long drives just water doesnt do the task well), a fire extinguisher(though not really in the boot), a large & powerful torch, a large umbrella and most importantly a tyre inflator. Out of all these, what has helped me multiple times is the tyre inflator. Most of the times, its not a large puncture that happens. So I have been able to drive my Scorpio to tyre repair shop only because of this.

So even if you dont have everything else, try to keep a tyre inflator. Trust me, it helps you bigtime when you are stuck.

In my glove box, other than the standard stuff like car papers & first aid kit, I have a mobile charging cable, a small diary with important phone numbers (you will know how important this is only when you phone gets damaged midway), an aux cable. When going on interstate trips with night driving, I generally carry a pepper spray as well.

Re: Must-Have Items in the boot of your car

I don't carry a lot of stuff like others do - but am listing down a few items that (as I read through the earlier posts) apparently are unique to me!!!

1. 2-3 Matchboxes - never know when you need a flame
2. Old newspapers - multipurpose (flame starter, dry up wet seats etc)
3. A 5' x 7' tarpaulin - multipurpose use
4. Whistle

#4 above has no relevance in the States...

Re: Must-Have Items in the boot of your car

Nice thread which can give good introspection of what we have and what else need to carry
What I have in my car boot: Tyre inflator, spare head light bulbs and fuses, news papers, pair of slippers, few news papers, shopping bags of different sizes, microfiber cloth, ~100ml car shampoo for long trips, 1 litre plain water + small soap (for washing hands after tyre change or inflation)

To be added: Torch, puncture repair kit, jumper cables.

Re: Must-Have Items in the boot of your car

Starting with nothing other than the car's OEM jack, toolkit and warning triangle, over the years I've added other permanent members into the boot
1. Tyre inflator
2. Tubeless tyre puncture/repair kit
3. Hydraulic jack
4. Microfiber cleaning cloths & newspapers (for cleaning the windshield glass)
5. Car Vacuum cleaner (though this is not typically used when on a drive, feel it is better stored here than inside the home!)
6. Empty Shopping bags (!), keeps the ladies happy
7. Jumper cables

You don't need to look for them too often. Frankly speaking, I travel mostly to my native place or two places that I know upto 400kms in a day. And I fill up usually at my source which is familiar territory (my house or relatives' town) and it helps my family of 4 people for the entire day with some water left.

But spotting RO plant is not tough. Don't look for them in big cities because they will be located somewhere in the very corner of the narrowest sidelane. Look for an RO plant in a respectable town on the side of highway. These days in telangana and Andhra Pradesh (usually where I travel the most) have atleast one water plant service in a town. For those small towns which are located only on the main road but very less in the interior, you can find RO plants easily.

Things to look out for when spotting a RO plant is
1. Mineral water auto (in the morning till noon)
2. 20 liter water cooling flask/miltons (lots of them are put in front of shops at all times)
3. 2 huge steel drums (usually of the RO plant)
4. Ask any lemon water vendor or small hotel or panipuri center

It is not hard to find RO plant in those small towns which only exist to the side of the highway. In those towns whose shops are lined up on highways, all the interior is generally houses and you can find RO plant on the main road itself.
