its from inside, i painted the non illuminating part inside.... yes you can do it on your zen, the hard part is taking out the plastic cover, as it is glued to the reflector, try putting it in boiling water... i removed it by heating it on the stove, and hence some patrs melted!!!!!

Great job. looks really nice. Anyone tried it on a swift ? With more real estate in the lamps, should look good for a red and black colours.

has anyone tried using thinner and paint instead of tint, electric tape - i own a black alto and would seriosuly like to get this done

the 1:4 ratio wouldnt count i guess where 1 is thinner and 4 is black paint
i asked a couple of guys at my workshop and they would try it out on broken taillights and see hw it works out will post images regarding this soon

if anyone knows the correct proportion of getting smoked tail @ head lights do reveal............

Why is this such a big secret i dont get it...

what is the exact proportion

Dude, there aint no exact proportion, just go to a painter at some garage and they will apply numerous light coats(somewhere in the ratio 1:5)till you are satisfied with the effect.Ive posted a pic of my baleno somewhere on the last 4 pages...this was done at Vasu's garage,"SAG"

Laquer is clear paint.Mine was done with black paint and thinner. One thing you should do though is,after painting the lights...leave it to dry and then do a clear coat of paint on it to give it the glossy effect.Mine doesnt have the clear coat and it looks pretty dull(but hott nonetheless)

can you post some pics of painted tail lamps (not the sprayed ones ) and how much did it cost you?? cuz if the price is similar to the spray i'd rather not take a chance with paint!!

Don't see anyone doing it or thinking of doing it to a Palio .. But, I guess it would be pointless on a Palio coz the stock reflector pattern looks so damn sexy as is.
Anyway, has anyone done it to a Palio, then ?
