I had one on my 94 Mitsubishi 3000GT. The damn thing never worked correctly. Every time the car started remotely, I would try to put it into gear and the engine would sputter, stall and shut down. I would have to start the car all over again with the ignition keys. Forget trying to impress the chicks - the remote start thing was a bane. Had it removed after a few months.

Yes, its possible to put it on bikes - I know a couple of whiz kids here who modded their GSXers with those fundoo gadgets. But the whole point is, those things go kaput in months.

Keep the itch alive hellspawn. You never know how much RASH you cause around after getting this done

Share details of any kits you have come across with prices. I'll be following closely

So thast the use of the Fiat Starter thing...

Was reading an article about remote starters:

Make certain that there is a relay added to the starter of the car so that the starter will not grind if you engage it while the engine is already on. Remember, you will have to turn the ignition switch on with the key when you enter the car after you have remotely started it. The antigrind feature protects the car's starter from damage if you accidentally engage the starter while turning on the ignition switch.

So that explains fiat starters, car not starting once the key is turned on and car cranked.

So, now coming back to the thread:

has anyone bought a kit from the Us and installed in Fiat or Toyota's?

am planning to buy one for my qualis...

Will any such system work with newer Maruti cards? ECU checks for validity of keys before starting.

Its a cool idea if it works. Specially in summers, you can start car and it will be cool by the time you get in.

probably because you live in bangalore with such cool weather you might not feel any need for "pre-cooled" car.
