I couldn't find any other engine oil which meets ACEA C2 criteria. The manual says to use C2 (but it's mainly for cars with DPF). S-Cross 1.6 sold in India doesn't have DPF and still C2 grade engine oil is recommended.

The car is performing very well even with more aggressive map. I have not noticed the power loss issue while shifting gears since many weeks . I would be hitting the dyno in another few days and try few more maps.

I was getting many questions regarding turbo lag in higher gears. The car pulls very well even from 1250 RPM in 4 th or 5 th gear. Posting the video of the same.

Nice. Which one? It will be good to have some numbers since you have been after other's numbers

I had filled Shell V Power diesel few days back. After driving around 100 KM.. I noticed slight difference in performance . I did a casual 0-100 run. AC was on and I did not even launch the car. I am very impressed.

Update

I did 5,000 kms yesterday post Wolf Moto remap. The car is a hoot to drive! It has very good low end and makes city driving lesser tiring, with power on tap. Perfect city/highway car, it is!

I recently did a Kochi - Bangalore run. I wanted to see how the car behaved with a light foot as well as when driven hard. Here are the few observations I made.

- I started at around 5 AM. It was raining, so I kept maintained a constant speed of 90 Km/h from Edapally till Trissur, as much as possible. Didn't go beyond that and used CC most of the time. I managed to extract 25+. Please note, I have 17 inch wheels with 225 rubber.

- From TCR till Palakkad the roads weren't good, the FE dropped to 20-21.

- Thankfully traffic was minimum and I managed to reach CBE in a few hours. From there the roads were really good and I got a few open stretches, without traffic or U turns or people around. Started increasing the speed gradually, shifting at 3000 RPM. I was cruising in triple digit speeds in no time. Overtaking was effortless, managed to surprise a few cars of higher segment too

- With a heavy foot, I was able to do *ahem* unmentionable speeds and still managed to get 15-16 kmpl on the highway, with AC.

- With the difference in low end after the remap, power delivery is very linear.

Catching up, like ol' pals.

I hope you get bored of present power . Time to get a downpipe and slightly aggressive tune.. What say?

We need to catch up soon too . If possible let's meet during my dyno session at Coimbatore. You can also dyno your car : Remap with stock cat con!!

Haha, downpipe is definitely in the cards. Taking it slow doc
We should definitely meet. I need to get a taste of your S-Cross. Hopefully during the dyno session at CBE. Fingers crossed.

re: Maruti S-Cross 1.6 Stage 3 Build: 202 HP / 438 Nm, tuned by Wolf Moto

5 months / 8000 KM after Wolf Remap

I am happy to report that the car had no mechanical issues even with me pushing to max all the time. I used to never revv diesel cars above 3000 RPM. Now I am shifting at 4500 RPM . I have figured out that my next car should be turbo petrol haha.

It was very good experience working with Rajiv. Heavily committed and transparent. He used to answer all my technical queries and it was fun discussing about tuning. I too have gained lot of knowledge.

My car is already FAST but I need more . I have read about all the mod options for this engine available online. I have even interacted with few tuners and onwers in Italy, Turkey etc. Stock turbo is Garrett GTB1446VZ and it's not possible to do more than 155 HP safely. We can up the power by dumping more fuel but it is not at all safe. We need more air, Yes a bigger turbo!!. It has been confirmed that Garrett GTB1549V is the best and bolt on upgrade for my car. With this turbo, tuners in Europe have achieved 190-200 HP at crank safely.

The present 0-100 timing is around 7.5 seconds as per speedo video. I expect it would be around 1 second slower on V Box. The stock car does 0-100 in 10 seconds on speedo. 2.5 seconds is HUGE gain. I would be posting the dyno graphs here soon. It would be Stock vs Remap run on a very reliable dyno. I want to see the power-torque graph and analyse the gain in terms of percentage. I hope the car has still more potential lol.

re: Maruti S-Cross 1.6 Stage 3 Build: 202 HP / 438 Nm, tuned by Wolf Moto

I had to postpone the dyno session. I need to make sure both the tuner (Rajiv) and dyno facility are available. I need the tuner also as I want to compare stock vs remap on dyno.

I did couple of 0-100 and 1/4th mile runs today. Torque Pro GPS log is pretty close to V Box. I am impressed with 0-100 timing but not so happy with 1/4th mile (thanks to very tall gear ratios in S-Cross 1.6)

re: Maruti S-Cross 1.6 Stage 3 Build: 202 HP / 438 Nm, tuned by Wolf Moto

Rajiv had come down to Mysore and remapped few of my friends cars. I also wanted to try another map with few minor changes. I am happy that Rajiv agreed even after such a tiresome day. He had remapped many cars and it was late night. We started the testing at exact 12 am and done by 4 30 AM. I just wanted to remove IAT based IQ limiter. Whenever the IAT is above 60 degrees, the ECU used to reduce the fuel. IAT used to never go above 55 under normal driving conditions on hot sunny days. But it used to go above 60 degrees once in a while during my high speed runs, testing etc. We just removed that limiting factor this time and also increased both fuel and boost marginally. The peak boost values are same though. I also wanted to try changing injector opening duration and rail pressure, just to see the results. Rajiv was dead against it and convinced me saying it's not the right method

After flashing the new tune, I got to test the car on very empty roads. I drove on entire stretch of ring road in Mysore. The car felt more punchy and low end was excellent. I have decided to stick with this tune and it would be final till I get bigger turbo haha.

P.S : I got to drive Rajiv's Polo 1.6 GT TDI which is running with very aggressive map say around 150 hp. That car was revving mad and very strong power delivery. I should have bought VAG car!!

Wondering if there is any tuner who can remap my Polo 1.5 TDI without opening the ECU.

Contact Wolf Moto. I am sure they would be able to do 1.5 TDI without opening ECU . Wolf Moto is equipped with both CMD and Alientech master tools. As per the latest update from CMD.. PCR 2.1 ECU in 1.5 / 1.6 TDI can be done fully by OBD.

11,000 KM post Wolf Remap!!
I have been driving the car a lot after remap. The car is doing great and have not faced any issues even with more aggressive map. I have tried many maps from Rajiv and it was total paisa vasool . I have observed that S-Cross 1.6 is very sensitive to Fuel quality and make sure to fill only at reliance diesel. Also its time to order few more bottles of magic liquid : Cetane-X!!

Recently my friend had got his Laura DSG remapped from Wolf Moto. It was just a normal stage 1 remap (170 hp / 400 NM). My S-Cross is around 155 HP / 405 NM. We had got chance to drive together. It was fun, I used to be ahead of Laura whenever we accelerate after slowing down on speed breakers. At higher speeds, the Laura would zoom ahead.. No replacement for displacement!!

What Next?
1. Dixcel Front discs and pads
2. EBC rear discs and pads
3. BMC DIA
4. GTB1549V turbo
5. 2.0 MJD intercooler

All these mods are planned after my exams in January

re: Maruti S-Cross 1.6 Stage 3 Build: 202 HP / 438 Nm, tuned by Wolf Moto

As per the calculations we made in the maps, the car was supposed to be doing around 155 PS. I tried an OBD app today called Dash Command. This app is much better than torque pro. We can log many parameters and also save them as a file. I did WOT run in third gear and the max power was 112 KW and that is 153 PS, YES!!. We need to enter few details about the car like weight, additional weight, fuel type, tyre size, BFSC (app said to enter 0.35 for turbo diesel), drag coefficient etc. After entering all the details.. I believe that the results are pretty accurate
