Just got my stock battery (2007 Ford Fiesta SXI Diesel) replaced by a new Amaron battery for Rs. 5900/-after discount for the old battery in Chennai. Not bad the stock battery lived almost 5 Yrs (It would have completed 5 this Jan 2012)

re: Amaron batteries

Hi Jo-G,

Where did you change your battery in Chennai and What is the specification ? (DIN 44 or DIN 45). Please let me know. Problem is my current exide battery is DIN43 spec and just 2.3 yrs old started giving trouble. One of dealer near Vadapalani quotes 4.8K for DIN44 Amron flo. Kindly confirm your specification and experience so far.

re: Amaron batteries

My 2.2 years old Exide battery conked off again withing two weeks. Immediately changed the battery as advised by the mechanic. Fitted new Amron FLO (blackversion) DIN45 model for 4.8k at Vadapalani. I thought that all amron batteries are in green, but this is black version i'm not sure the difference and the price also seems less comparing to the other dealers.

re: Amaron batteries

^^^The ones that are not maintainability free and zero maintenance come in black, IIRC. They are priced the lowest. Hope you have compared the prices. You'll have to keep checking the electrolyte every once a while. Also its self discharge rate will likely be higher.

re: Amaron batteries

oh, but in the cover it mentioned that zero maintenance (with silver line) and sealed for life stickers are around the battery. He said DIN45 (LH) comes in black. Did he take ride on me? Advise please

re: Amaron batteries

^^^Oh? Sealed for life? Then I'm not sure. They may have come out with something new. It does not have any filler holes at all? Make sure they are not hidden by a top cover. Is it a VRLA battery?

Simplest way to check is to compare prices with other places, since we don't know what exactly he has given you.

re: Amaron batteries

This is the specification of my new amaron battery:
AMARON FLO 76Min/360A

AAM-FL-545 17 1036

Outer box is green but the batter is full black also the dealer said where

AAM-FL-545 17 1036

(5)45 means DIN45 range. I'm not sure that though

re: Amaron batteries

I am planning to change the battery of my Premier Padmini S1 with a Amaron one. Its currently fitted with a SF sonic 65AH which is around 2.2yrs old.
Can anybody help me with the correct/ suitable Amaron model (&AMP per hr) for my car. If possible please share indicative price too.

They look like distilled water filler holes no may not be entirely maintenance free .

Where is the dealer in Gurgaon? Are you talking about the one's on the Ardee City Road (near Route 69)?

I believe there are 2 Amaron people there.

re: Amaron batteries

It's time to change the Amaron-Flo on my Baleno and wondering if they actually honour their discount-warranty. Being 42months old ie. service life, the applicable discount as per their calculation [1 - (ServiceLife / 48)] comes to 0.125 ie 12.5%. But since the warranty term says "discount would be either the calculatedValue (12.5%) or 20%, whichever is higher, I should get a 20% discount. Over phone a dealer quoted 4048 for the same kind of battery I have now and when I mentioned about the current one being Amaron, he said, then you can have it for 3700. But at 20% discount I should be paying only 3200. Hence my query about whether anyone has experience with exercising Amaron warranty.

Need to visit the dealer from whom I bought the current battery and see what he has to offer.

Well, they are not VRLA... their Maintainence free and Zero Maintainence battery do have filler holes.

If its Flo, IIRC, it used to be green. Maybe they have just changed the color. Someone who is acquainted with the latest batches would be in a better position to tell. Anyway, don't think you should worry much about it as long as its Flo and says Zero Maintenance. What price you paid is another issue.

Sorry for the late reply. Can no longer keep up with stuff on tbhp due to time constraints.
