How much would an Evo-ish kit for the Lancer cost?

Those of you who read my intro post know my plans.. but I'll repeat everything here cuz I know how lazy people are

I want to pick up a stock white or red 99/00 GLXi and put a nice kit onto it to make it look as close to an Evo as possible as far as the exterior is concerned... questions:

How much would the...
1) ...body kit cost? What brand?
2) ...Evo-ish paint and stickering cost? I guess picking up a red car is a better idea than white..
3) ...basic internals cost: sports steering wheel, sporty pedals, sporty gear stick, maybe a tach (if that doesnt come with the stock)
4) ...muffler tip or exhaust mod cost? (only to make the car sound a litttttttttle more tuned and heavier)

I don't need engine mods as I'm not really going to race the car! I just want it to look exactly like the Evo in my signature pic!

I'm trying to calculate how much money i need to steal .. errmm <backspace><backspace> i mean how much money i need to earn.

I have no idea where Milan Subway is .. is that the subway that connects the west to the east? Isn't that a rather short subway for someone to have a full shop out there?

Hmm, that didnt sound as funny as I hoped it would.

hey aalaap,
rio design at pali hill has some pretty decent kits for the lancers. Some are evo like too. For the sports steering and other interior stuff, i think one of our TBites owns a Performance parts store? RPM is it? check that out.

Hey Alaap.
The Kit with the Spoiler and Skirts would cost approximately 35000Rs.
And the Free Flow Exhaust for the Lancer is about 16000Rs.The K&N filter would be around 4000-4500Rs.
I would also advice porting and polishing of the head.Would be useful enough.
And an additional fibre bonnet would be around 9000Rs.
Also the steering, sport pedals,Gear know and a Tach would be around 10000Rs.
If ur looking for a MOMO steering,it would be a little more.

So in all the total of these things come upto 75000Rs.
What about the tire and wheels???Are you planning to keep them stock???

Now the Lancer Glxi does not provide red color. Its only available in Sfxi.Correct me if im wrong.

This is the info i have....hope it helps. If u want anymore info feel free to PM me.Happy shopping.
Cya.

Hey Aaalap

Body kits shud come anywhere b/w 25,000 and 35,000 for the lancer for skirts and spoiler et all.

Around 12-15k for a nice muffler and upto 5k for a K&N. If you already have a car that comes with a great tyre-alloy combo, no sweat. O/wise the whole exercise should cost you upwards of 25k. Total should come b/w 70 and 80k.

IMO, body panels and skirts are best avoided. My reasons are
1. The quality of fittings. I dunno how long will they really last in bombay.
2. Skirts. In Bombay? With speedbreakers and potholes i really doubt if u can expect the kind of life that u shud ideally get from them.
3. But more than the upper two, which i really consider minor are these. It'd make your car heavy. How heavy is something totally dependent on the material used and the kind of worksmanship involved. Also none of these kits are aerodynamic in the truest sense. None of these fitters have wind-tunnels to measure the aerodynamic effectiveness of their kits. So whatever you fit is your eyes playing tricks rather than any true performance upgrade.

Still, if u wish to please people and want a real cool looking car, you can go in for one of these kits. But if u want to make your Lancer real fast, avoid these body kits. A spoiler shud suffice.

I've seen the rio kits and quite frankly, Im not most impressed by those. Partly due to the fact that you see Rio'd Lancers almost everyday at every corner of any cool street.

Anyway .. where at Pali is Rio? Any contact number? Are they open on Sundays?
