there was a "write off " City at Linkway last year. A tree fell on the car bang in the center. The car was a total loss. The engine was intact. Guess how much was the car sold for??
1.5 L .

Well, you could steal another City, rub out the chassis no, punch the scrap cars chassis no, switch engines and you have a ringer: looks legit and can fool the ordinary punter - so for a 2.5l outly , you could make > 100% return

You could just steal another city and "change" the chasis # as well as the engine # and ..cha-ching...infinity% returns! *
(but i see ur point of having a real engine # for ID)

but this is not a GTA site!

Rtech......totalled cars are your best bet. Sadly its rare to have a car "totalled" only from the rear or side (without damage to tranny)

gluck!

In the UK, it is called "ringing" - the thief buys a totalled black Honda City.

He then looks for a black Honda City and steals it or gets it stolen to order. With a little bit of surgery, the chassis ID's are switched (or erased and restamped) - same with engine block - stright swap if the engine was ok in totalled car - and hey you have a "dead ringer"for the old one.

Another undesirable thing - esp with fwd cars is - find a car trashed at the rear, and another one trashed in the front - cut them in half and weld the two good biits together, and respray - you cannot tell the difference at times unless you have and accident and they break in half

In the UK, the insurance companies now sieze potentially unsafe cars which can be misused like this, remove usable bits and crush em but it still happens.

And, can you check with your contact if it can fit in a '90 Civic Hatch.
