Actually you are right mate, Sedans do not need such mirrors. They probably are a simple add-on accessory which makes car look wacky for sure.

Hi mate, considering that the Nano has a rear engine which totally kills it's boot space and the fact that it's hood has got a fuel tank with little amount of space left for some luggage; Thus, enough space is not there to store a spare tyre. So, it looks a useful mod. However, If this mod was done to a relatively bigger hatch back like a Swift, Alto or Wagon R then it would have been a bad job.

Thanks

The post number 16740 ,with modification on Nano is a practical innovation provided it dont play with the balance of the vehicle. The rear hatch is anyway not open-able.So there is no fear of giving undue pressure on hinges. This much space used by the tire in front can be called as "added dicky space" now.

re: Pics of weird & wacky mod jobs in India!

Saw this chimera of automobile(s) and log cabin in Chennai.

Note the double grille (inverted, that too), and the tiger head sculpture where the hood ornament used to be. The rear is converted into what looks like a small cottage that one usually finds pictured in children's fairy tales. Lastly, look at the ghost of the badging to know what lies beneath.

The whole car was coated with some brown stuff that looked like putty. Think it was a WIP. Can't guess the purpose, though.

I can put my money on the place, the car belongs to. It is for 100% sure, from Mods Own Country - Kerala.
Only people there have a sense of these weird colours.

See for yourself HERE, HERE, HERE and HERE.... Phew, just browse through the Tastefully Modified thread. You will find all sorts of interesting colours on OHCs' and Balenos'.

Hi mate, I feel the body color looks fine and rather better than the OEM shades. Wheel caps are totally a different story though! Just smoke up the alloys and give a Gray/Black color to the wheel caps; Then it will rather be "Dzired" by almost everyone.

Thanks

Haha. Kerala does have some tastefully done cars as well. This one is from Mumbai. May be he shifted base?

the color is bit too bright but what you say might help him out.

Ohh yes, definitely Kerala has some of the best modded cars in the country. I keep checking that thread. Some of em' are really beautifully modified.

But then, I fail to explain myself, why do they weirdo colourify some of those OHCs'. I love the subtle colour and mods on the OHCs' (although I own a flashy cocktail Green Beat ).

Looks like an effort to make a Caterham replica gone terribly wrong.

It is red in colour and carries a Ferrari logo. Could probably overtake this year's Ferrari too.
