re: Pics of weird & wacky mod jobs in India!

I wouldn't call this a wacky mod job, but then a jugaad maybe. This was spotted at Sahakara nagar railway gate. Some construction work was going on the railway lines, hence this modification.

The actual road tires and wheels were removed and specially made wheels for rails were fitted.

When the job was over a hydraulic jack (I thought it was. Couldn't see it clearly as I was in hurry to the office) was used to remove the truck from the rails and conventional wheels were fixed.

Please excuse the poor quality photos. It was taken with my ipod.

This is not only weird and wacky but downright stupid and dangerous
He is totally covering up the left hand side braking/turning and reverse indicators.

Maybe the spare wheel stuck itself will offer damage reduction in case someone rear-ends the Moron

This is very common modification, and whenever trucks needs to work on railway lines they do it. They can just replace the wheels when it's time to drive it on the rails. It's a very reasonable and right mod for the job. The original idea is brilliant. IMO it deserves to be in the 'tasteful' modifications thread.

Seems to be a Honda Brio, going by the alloys and the overall dimensions. Certainly not tasteful, but very distinctive.

Not a brio for sure. The windshield is different. The alloys too are not from the Brio. They are the ones from a Honda Accord.

Any more pics of the car Senna4Ever?

That pic is hilarious, and to think someone paid for it! That nose reminds me of a handheld vacuum cleaner and that "wing" at the back could just as easily be its handle!

Its a ground-up DC creation, "Coke", apparently.

Here's a newsbyte:
"Dilip Chhabria, chairman and managing director, DC Design, unveiled a grand sports utility vehicle, The Coke 2020, in Mumbai on Tuesday.

The Coke 2020 is the 500th car to come out of the DC Studio. The car "combines the inspiration, exhilaration, dedication and brilliance of the 499 cars before it and the skill acquired over a decade of design to create the most extreme SUV ever: a wild mix of an exotic sports car and an SUV," said a DC Design media release.
The car is completely handcrafted and was completed in a 90 days from ideation to reality. Beginning from the top the glass area is slim, taut and flowing. The side flanks are muscular and there is a central spine that ends in an aluminum beam. Vertical headlamps and a massive grille dominate the front.

The rear features lighting flowing out of the rear glazing. Four massive wheel-arches clothe the huge 20-inch wheels. Aluminum accents all over round of the package.

The interior is a mix of high-grade leather and aluminum. A large console dominates the center, while an all-glass roof adds an extra measure of style.

The Coke 2020 is a harbinger of the shape of things to come from DC Design, and "the name suggests the car is styled to look like it would in the year 2020," said DC Design."

Yeah right! This car is a harbinger of what all we have to bear in future with the launch of such eye-disease-inducing mods.

I will say, a very bad effort for their 500th car. They could have done much better; or not done anything at all rather than doing such a job!

I guess the designers were high on that 'substance' when they thought up this monstrosity and promptly named it just that. Makes sense, although the end product is absolute nonsense!

There are some ramshackle creations on this thread that look better executed than this. And I'm being very kind when I say this, DC. Stick to sprucing up the interiors of Travellers and Innovas, please leave the exterior alone.

Oh No! DC at it again? The donor car seems to be the 2nd gen Honda City. The alloys are for sure from the City ZX Vtec.

Going by the A-pillar of the car and the height it seems like a Daewoo Matiz. It's surely not a Brio. Brio body height is lower.

It was actually parked near the DC showroom and in front of a FirstChoice dealer. Quite a chance that the dissatisfied customer returned/sold the car.
