Actually if someone can make it work...it's a pretty neat idea. But the belt, being a simple 'V' shape, WILL slip after it gets wet. It will be impractical to put a ribbed belt on it as it will occupy quite a bit more space outside the wheel.

Gold plated . Or you mean to say wrapped? Seriously i dont understand the logic of wrapping a car in chrome(any shade). How can these people drive in sunlight. Wont the bonnet reflection hamper be too much to handle for the driver?

Saar, you are being logical. You are not understanding Mr. Mehndi's emotional connection with colour Gold.

Reminds me of Rajni joke...
Definition of solar eclipse: when Rajni stares at the sun in anger, sun hides behind the moon. This phenomenon is called solar eclipse.

Maybe, Mr. Mehndi has heard this and thought that when he wants to drive during the day, he will just stare at the sun in anger.

I see this contraption everyday on my way home in Goregaon East, Mumbai. I think it's based on a mini-truck, modified to look like a jeep.

It's a downforce generator. One is supposed to stop before a corner, gauge what speed it's to be taken, andv get out to adjust the angle!

It's a pretty common accessory on Delhi circuits, don't you know.

By the by, available at most auto "jhankaar " stores for about 200 bucks.

Saw one of those modified Travellers today, the first time I've seen one up close actually. I really like this concept, I wonder why it hasn't caught on that much in the private segment. Personally, I'd love to own something like this in the future, what better than relaxing on a comfy sofa inside your own vehicle!

That's one from Josh Designs.
The Kerala based Tempo Traveler customization specialists.
They are quite good at it. Most taxi TTs from all over south get the seats, upholstery, Body work, Air suspension, AC and ICE fittings, etc.. done from them.
Again automotive body building offers hell a lot of choices. So if the owner wants to get it done in a certain way, that's the way its done. No questions asked.

Some subtle jobs from them:

How I wish the owner went for a decent type of spoiler n didn't add those unwanted decals ! And in case anyone thinks the paint job is "wacky", it isn't. That's the Falken Tires Motorsport livery !

Dear rushi, I would say a neat job indeed (except for the wire clutter in engine bay). At least it looks decent and factory built. But I fail to understand how come so many wires in the engine bay, did he sprinkled some of these.

re: Pics of weird & wacky mod jobs in India!

Spotted this Orange Innova on the Baikampady bridge, Mangalore.
I don't think the Innova was ever available in Orange shade and this repainted Orange Innova looked odd to say the least.
