Jokes apart, mods like this must destroy the stability of the chassis. Wont there be a lot of flex in the chassis if it gets used in regular driving; let alone the fact that it might not even be street legal anymore.

Yes there will be. One of the main reasons as to why manufacturers add structural enhancements to convertibles. For instance Ferrari has beefed up the underbody of the 458 Spyder and added structural support to avoid the chassis from flexing under hard cornering.

This man seems like a typical "jugaad" type of guy. Doesn't care how it drives or the science behind this. Wants it to look attractive and unique. That's it.

No it isn't legal. Primary reason being that it cannot be insured or registered. There were about 2 or 3 in Jaipur and the operators made a lot of money out of them before law came in and kicked them wanna be limo cars made in Dabawali, Punjab out.

The hideousness apart - in the extra money that is spent on this car to make it to this state, the owner could have easily upgraded to a better car from a segment above. Ok maybe that one wouldn't have been an eye-sour like this one.

The only possible reason for committing such atrocity could be that a wannabe noob somehow got hold of a totalled 5 series for cheap and modified it instead of repairing it or bringing it back to its original state as that might have proved costly.
I dont comment much on modification as I believe that one must be able to keep his car the way he likes it, but this is just unacceptable, that too when done to a Beemer, my heart goes out for the poor car, she was born to be a mighty automobile but now has been turned into a joke
I will presume it happened that way as I would be able to go through the day without thinking too much about how unfair life is actually
