This Bajaj Chetak has now got modified to propel itself using the age old, archaic 400 cc Greaves Lombardini diesel engine.

The Bajaj Chetak looks too odd with the engine mounted on a metal plate on the footboard and cushioned by rubber mounts. The diesel tank is very crudely mounted just above the engine perhaps to use gravity to feed the crude engine with its wholesome, liquid diet. And the modifier claims that it runs for 80 kms for a litre of diesel.

The sprocket and belt and pulley drive system are clearly visible which have been designed by the owner himself. He mentions that due to the additional weight, the suspension of the scooter was causing the belt to loosen up affecting the chain. Hence, he had installed 3 adjusters that are also seen on cars. The big engine has covered up the position of the foot brake which the owner shifted to the side along with a footrest.

The total output of the engine is 16 hp and the top speed is 65-70 km/h. The owner clarifies that it is not road-legal and has been developed for exhibitions.

Saw this weird modjob to a bike near kondapur, Hyderabad. It's cool by the way, he was least worried about the rain drizzling around. Also I couldn't take pic of the front. It had proper headlight (detached and extended from the bike and indicators on the front pannel. Mirrors are placed on the frame and the guy was wearing proper full face helmet too

This Mercedes has been tastefully modified and if you see it closely in person it does not stand wacky at all !
