Nothing wierd or whacky about a Mercedes with a fully painted hubcap. Also what you refer to as a Tata Sumo light is in fact an original mercedes Benz light. These lights were available on the 114/115 BEnz models also nicknamed as a "Compact".

Models upto 1973 had lights like these

This is a pic of my 1973 220 when I bought it

Post1973 till 1975 these ribbed type lights came on the Compact

A sumos Light cluster though similar is not the same and is a bit longet as mounted vertically.

I had a friend who had a baleno in the countryside. he ripped the top off, and used it as a pickup truck to carry wood and coco-nuts. I was like when i heard him say it that calmly. Such a beautiful beast , and used as a truck.

Then again, the idea of a drop top baleno is not bad. Will have to see the vehicle if he ever brings it to town....

tata sumo taillights
Amit, that is Not a Tata Sumo tail light. Like @V-16 has shown with other Merc models, this set of tail lights matches the curvature of the body. The ones used on the Sumo are flat.

Also, the tail lights you are mentioning were used on other Tata vehicles (buses & trucks) before they were used on the Sumo.
