Yes it is a TATA Winger. Couldn't capture the front side as I was driving and there was some busy traffic in front of me after I overtook.

My heart sunk as I looked at the dash, and the guy told me it was a 1986 model. The owner could have used a post 1987 model instead, why a poor SS80??
I saw a similar "convertible" in Brigade Road. Same color, though it was an 118 NE sporting a tristar.

That's a DC (mis)creation if I'm not wrong. Inspired by his own Arka convertible based on a Cielo. The car featured in Overdrive, more than half a decade back!

This is absolutely disastrous, and lacking basic design sense! How can the boxy Esteem design pull of VW Beetle like rounded front and rear ends?

Hey, I liked the Esteem. Mainly because of the color.
The small scoop on the hood looks yuck, rear pics available ? I guess you clicked while driving.

I'd have liked the nose, if it had better finish. Ikon tail lamps sure to look real ugly though.

I do not know the owner of this this actual car,
but have seen it driving gracefully on the street -- small and quiet, it goes like a rocket. It is a daily visitor to my office campus.

It does not take great sense and discernment to throw negative comments.
धीमहि, धियो, यो नः प्रचोदयात् ॥ May we attain, discernment, He to us inspired

My view is that it takes vision, to conceive of a shape and great guts to invest money in modifying a plain vanilla everyday car to conform to your vision.

Aside: the engine is well-maintained and silky-smooth compared to plain Esteems of its vintage. The deep metallic paint finish is great and the curves are symmetrical and well-finished.

If it had been the product of Volkswagen or Skoda, people would've waxed ga-ga over its looks. I have seen uglier factory-finished cars from the so-called reputed marques.

That a seriously high quality finish & I would not place it here, may be the Dzire could have such a boot in future when maruti does a all new Dzire :-)

The front look is actually quite attractive. It resembles the Accent's front to some degree. The accent would have been a better base car for this project.

Anyway, it's a nice mod-job on a rather forgettable design.

I wish I could sue people for making cars look so ghastly. What was this guy thinking?

If only the creator had gone the whole hog and done a chopped and curvy roof, this one would have been a complete custom. With the stock esteem roof-line; i'm afraid this qualifies to be featured in this thread. Just my opinion
