The Headlight Assembly is from a Jetta! The front has been completely redone, and not in a very good way.

Sigh I know, the car looked so nice in stock condition, why would someone want to do this.
Wicked mind at work

The car must have been totalled at some point or was involved in a major accident. This might explain the fishy dashboard airbag and the (over-worked) three-pointed star on the steering boss.

Which is also probably why it has had such extensive, albeit terrible, surgery done to the front and rear. Other than that, I can't, for the life of me, imagine someone destroying a Cedia just for fun.

I dont think so, this is the stock dashboard of the select! The owner has just added some fake food finish to it.

That's not what I meant. I am aware that this is the standard Cedia Select dash.

I was pointing to just the airbag module on the passenger side, it's a bit too shiny when compared to the rest of the dash. The finish is usually the same. I have seen such differences in vehicles that have had an incomplete accident repair work. People use fake airbags, empty module, leather covers, et al.

Same thing goes for the steering wheel. Maybe the unduly large mercedes logo covers some damage on the horn boss. Anyway, all of this is just speculation. The provided photographs are inconclusive at best, so we can all keep guessing.

Each to his own!

And the Sierra's from Calicut! Please pass the cyanide pill.

On a more serious note, whoever thought up the concept gets full marks for ingenuity. But I wonder how the whole thing looks; those open scissor doors are covering most of the body.

He seems to have taken the term 'poser' literally. A ladder (to clean the really tall roof?) and spare wheel from an auto!?!

re: Pics of weird & wacky mod jobs in India!

The other day I saw a Santro in Mahim with a very unique wrap job. It was the first time in my life I have seen a car wrapped in Wood Finish ! Even the rims were painted a matching shade of brown. I couldnt get a good look but the roof also looked like it had a very rough finish black or dark brown texture. It could have been a stone finish for all I know !

Not a bad attempt I would say. The colour code is good, along with the areas coloured. Alloys are good too.
If only he could have used a smaller spoiler for a more subtle look to go with the size of the car.

EDIT: That thing lying inside is a "Backup for Highways", if you know what I mean
