Gunbir, would you know the names of some brands of Security Films?
Are these films tint+security or security alone?
Are these made in India or imported?
Approximate cost?
I wanted to do some armchair research before I get my @$$ outside :-) TIA.
I think the best option is to buy security systems with motion sensors(for both interiors & exteriors).
I figure that herculesksp has the right idea when he wants to install two security systems in his car.
Imagine this scenario -
The thief has found your car parked in a nice quiet corner.
He's taken about 2 minutes to disable the keyless entry system & thinks the car / accessories are now ready for him to flick.
He opens the door & the second alarm freaks out due to sensors, etc.
Cost of car: Rs. 550.0k.
Cost of security system 1: Rs. 6.0k
Cost of security system 2: Rs. 5.5k
Look on the swine's face when 2 goes off: Priceless.
Leaving a pet cobra in the driver's seat would be a good idea. One of those rubber mockups would do the job well enough. :D

Askok, The security type of film which when pasted on windows often serve the same purpose of laminated glass. I think it's available in Cochin itself at some glass dealer/accessory shop .
