More than saying that the M.A.S.S are overloaded I would say painting is not their forte. Agreed they have all the specialised paint booths etc but IMO their core activity is not with painting but engine repair. To me it is just an ancillary activity. Adding to this is the fact that they are always overloaded.

M.A.S.S is a huge let down in terms of the painting quality and finish how much ever you prod them.
Thats very true, they are overloaded most of the time . And a word of caution , they have all of a sudden become expensive.

Found that in my last service.

Can you share some details on the work done and the charges please? Also, some insight into the quality of their work would help. Thanks.

From my limited experience, I would stick my neck out and say the paint booth of MSM is very good.

From what I hear most of the A.S.S have contract workers for tinker and painting. That's one reason why they quote a high rate. I am on the look out for a good body shop and painter myself.

I know of a guy who does a decent job with minor body work and patches, but he doesn't have a booth, hence I'm a little skeptical.
I'm looking for a better place in Chennai, who can do a competent job.
The car is a noble white Elantra and has a few deep scratches, which probably has to be filled.
I have a few minor dents and scratches to take care of, so could you tell me how I can contact this guy?

Privilege car spa in nandanam is good. They have a specialized paint booth. Talk to Pavan/Rajesh. They will be able to give you a good quote.

+1 to that. They restored and repainted my friends Swift which had it right fender and bumper damaged very badly in an accident. Myself and Geeash got our bumper corner protectors matched to body color at MSM.

The other options are Ignite and Privilege Carz Spa.

Privilege carz spa: Did an excellent job of repainting some areas of my friend's black accord.

Ignite: I had seen two repainted cars at Ignite. One was good (White Civic) and the other one I was not impressed. Perhaps because it just came out of the paint booth. The second one was painted by Ignite's painter in a Concorde booth in ECR rented by them. However, Ignite fixed the front bumper of my Manza back into shape after it came off when I scrapped a big pothole filled with water. TASS (Concorde) and Privilege Carz Spa couldnt get it right.
