I was in Mumbai recently for some work and had a quick drive in K S Motorsport's Supra powered Mercedes Benz W124 E220. Powered by a 2JZ GTE, it is the combination of two of my favourite 90s things.

This car is the best hot-rod/resto-mod I have driven.

Made a brief video, although it isn't much. Thought I would share it with you all. Hope Karan and others can add to it.

Interesting swap! Looks real good. Am just glad that is one more W124 saved & maintained by an enthusiast. Can you share some videos with only the engine revving please?

I have an interesting incident about this car-

December 2016

I was at KSM with a few bhpians from Pune. Me and fellow bhpian Yash Joglekar saw this w124 when it was in the process of this conversion. The conversation went like this(it was in Marathi, translating it in English)-

Yash- Don’t you find something wrong with the rear suspension of that w124? It’s sagging.
Me- Might have been CNG’ed like the MH43 Cayenne we had in Pune which was running a CNG kit. Feel sad for the car.

I love the W124 and decided to still check it out. The engine bay was open and I was going through the wiring harness which is when I noticed the engine cover and the ECU which was lying near the battery. The engine cover read 3000 twin turbo with a Toyota logo and the ecu has 2jz written. I understood the meaning of the Hindi phrase pairo tale zameen sarakna . I called Yash and told him about the supra engine. The technician working on the car fired her up and it was pure music to ears to listen to the twin turbo’s and the inline6 engine. That probably is the only video on my insta feed. Spoke to the owner of ksm later and he told us that he liked the 2jz-gte and the shape of the w124 so decided to get them together.

That day i realised two things-
1. Never judge a book by its cover. :P
2. 2jz-GTE is legendary in every sense.

I think this car has been built to provoke opinions, like the trolls royce. While i think there were many better combinations, the least they could have done would be to integrate the intercooler, and put in a less ricey sounding exhaust - It's just not in character for this car.

I hope they make a better bumper for this car!

That looks like a perfect marriage! This is my dream project!!!! If only I had to money to materialize it

Is this swap RTO approved?

Regards,

Any idea how did they source the engine and cost associated with it?
